If a person works 40 hours a week, the wages they bring in ought to be enough to pay for...
... rent, utilities, food, clothing, and health care (if the employer doesn't already provide it.) Basically, the cost of living. Quite a demand, I know. I'll be brazen here and add that any full-time paycheck also ought to be enough to provide for some basic care for one child - food, clothing, health care, education costs, etc - because having children, that's part of life too. It shouldn't be a privilege that only the wealthy can afford.
The fact that this even has to be debated and fought for tooth-and-nail in the United States in the 21st century is shameful and embarrassing.

3. I don't think
that goes nearly far enough. It should also allow a person to save some money for emergencies, fund their retirement, and pay for an annual vacation as these are healthy for people and it is disgusting only the wealthy can afford nice vacations.
limpyhobbler (7,651 posts)
5. Should be more like 30 hours.
But I get your point and totally agree.

6. Nixon proposed a guaranteed annual income.
I don't think it was much & I don't know how far it would go in that time, but can you believe it? A republican?
I think government should provide the following for everyone:
3 hots & a cot
health care
education through college
child care/elder care
public transportation everywhere
We could do this. We are not broke, contrary to what they tell us. We have many untapped revenue streams, but until we actually start to value people over money, nothing will change.

37. I would add basic communication and internet. n/t.
Bunnahabhain (60 posts)
43. Don't forget
the Internet is useless without a computer so a computer needs to be part of the basic package for full time work. Ditto communication and phone service, i.e. people should be given basic cell phone service and phone.

26. Having children is a privilege
the human race can no longer afford.
So their burger-slinging job at Mickey D's should pay for:
A place to live
Food
Utilities
Clothing
Health insurance
Phone
A computer
Internet service
An emergency fund
Vacation
Retirement fund
Education through college
Elder care
Child care
Transportation
Plus, all of the above for one child
... and preferably at only 30 hours per week.
:rotf:

And some prep H for all the pain the DUmmies and their ilk want to cause the rest of us.

I thought about telling this one to check with a local recruiter.
Decided that was a lost cause.

With the exception of "public transportation", DUmmie Crispycritter can get everything on that list...
...in prison. :lmao:

Gimmie. Gimmie. Gimmie.
DU's entire economic plan is a hand held out, expecting to be filled with cash.
DUmmies are ignorant children. Any govt that can give you everything can take away everything.
I'm not willing to live under a govt with that much power.

30 hours per week seems a bit excessive to me. All humans need recreation time--time to recharge. 20 hours per week would be better; this way, twice as many people could be employed to make the 40-hour week!
And don't forget paid 2-week vacations every year?

All I had to see about this thread was wrapped up in the first three words of one comment:

Parasites and leeches, everyone of them.
They want to enjoy the fruits of a successful life without ever having to overcome the hardships it can pose.
They can get all the money they ever wanted, and still will be miserable because they never developed the skills to balance "wants" versus "needs".
There is no level of government assistance that will satisfy them because they were never forced to plan for those unforeseen detours life throws at you.
In short they will never be content, because someone else will have something they don't and until they get it, they will bitch like a whiny teenager that thinks they were "wronged".
And they (DUmmies) wonder why they are ridiculed, overlooked, and are held in contempt.
-
What a bunch of selfish lowlifes!!!
It's called a budget people
Having a child is a choice, not mandatory.
If you want a nice salary with those benefits?? Get a degree for choice and work (gasp)for it.
-
You're welcome to have all that -- and maybe more.
All you have to do is provide equal value to those who provide those things to you.
So, what are you Proglodytes prepared to give/do?
-
And a daily crotch punch maybe two on the weekends.

Barry agrees with gimpyhobbler, except Barry thinks it should be more like just 29 hours a week--that provides a pretty low standard of living but it should be enough to satisfy the simple needs of the lumpen proletariat.

A paid vacation is a basic human right, just like healthcare, just like a deep tan, with or without tanning booths, free of course.

That is the key factor that the DUmmies disregard in their economic fantasies. My boss pays me because I provide a service, not because he likes handing out money. My salary is based on the perceived value of my work.

Most primitives believe that the act of existing provides society a valuable service, and they expect to be compensated accordingly.
-
Anybody making more than the minimum wage is "wealthy" to them. But all they have to do is move to Africa, cut their minimum wage in half, and they'd be "wealthy" beyond their wildest dreams.
-
They adore these threads, which crop up now and then...the big "wish list." They feed off each other until it all becomes comically ridiculous.

You're absolutely right, Miskie. But hey DUmmies, here's the hard truth. We've seen your pic threads, and you are painful to even look at, much less compensate you for your invaluable existence.
-
Golly they really don't ask for much do they? Do they even know what the price of EVERYTHING would do if they got their wish? :???:

The "compensation" could come in the form of 9 00 Buckshot, at 1350 fps or so.

They forgot to ask for someone to fluff their pillow and wipe their ass.

And I think somebody should come up with a way to breed a very large shrimp. That way, you could ride him, then, after you camped at night, you could eat him.
How about it, science?

And right there the pipe dream goes off the track.
The jug-eared muslim has pretty much assured that the few DUmmies who find work will never get over 29 hours a week.

The DU OP puts me in mind of the scene in The Moon is a Harsh Mistress where the Lunar revolutionaries have a meeting and keep tacking on entitlements to their idea of the basic rights of Man...or the tail end of the Monty Python Spanish Inquisition sketch.
Heinlein and Python fans will understand what I mean.

Pictures of the goings-on in the Castro District come to mind, :puke: though I think the DUmp Monkeys will find that the value they place on that, and the value normal people do is damned irreconcilable.

Yep, and that $40.00 burger (no cheese) will, I'm certain, taste wonderful.
Prepared by drooling infants.

Parasites and leeches, everyone of them.
They want to enjoy the fruits of a successful life without ever having to overcome the hardships it can pose.
95% of them have never had a non-bouncy hardship to overcome. They lie.
Habitually.
Because they have to to remind themselves of, and justify in their own minds, why they are emotionally retarded. The ongoing denial of reality clashes with their clinging to cherished childhood fantasy beliefs and sends the little doucherockets off the deep-end.
Anyone, with 1/2 a brain, understands fully well that Obinga is a manufactured fraud. Until we fix the educational system in this country, we're done.
Simple as that.
-
98ZJUSMC, I think I made a few other suggestions in this thread to add to your list.

Dear DUmbasses...you could not convince normal people to piss on you if you were on fire much less lavish you with all the luxuries you want without putting forth any effort.
Eat shit and die.

We refer to it as "feed" when we're talking about livestock. That sounds about what the DUmbasses are demanding.
