What are some good recipes for beans?

I'm trying to switch to more vegetarian diet and am getting tired of baked beans mixed with corn.

<<<wouldn't want to be around the nordic primitive a whole lot.

1. Try Black Beans w/Rice

I lived in Miami for years. Try black beans, slow cooked with garlic, a little olive oil and bay leaves. Pour the beans over the rice and enjoy.

2. What kind of food do you like?

That might give us a starting off point...?

In the meantime:
You can add beans to salads
You can add black beans and corn to chunky salsas or add them to tacos or burritos
You can mash them and add garlic and olive oil (and other seasonings) to use as a dip or sandwich spread
You can make all kinds of one dish meals with beans and rice

I ♥ beans!

<<<wouldn't want to be around dear old sweet Lu a whole lot either.

3. We had Tortellini Black Bean Salad tonight.

Cook tortellini and mix with black beans, chopped bell peppers, and cherry tomatoes. Add a dressing made of mayo, yogurt, and mustard. Mix and chill. It's great!

4. Erik, I have the lifesaving site for you!

These red beans and rice are DELICIOUS!!! Tip: use small red beans, not kidney beans. They're just better.

Black beans and rice, I love that stuff, but when my grandmother makes it it's like they just came off the boat.

Feed beans to steer....kill steer....cook over hickory wood until medium done....for added unhealthiness, add at least 3 strips of bacon top and bottom.

Leave the bacon off of some, and I'll be over the mountain to join you.

Beans make a lovely food for cows and pigs.

Seriously? Is baked beans with corn the only vegetarian meal he knowns?

Beans, in their various forms, can be very useful for Catholics on Fridays...but at the moment I'm leaning more towards the JohnnyReb school of thought.

Use the recipe for beans I'm using right now. Steam 'em in a pot, add a little olive oil, serve with your choice of meat and potato.

In the book Little Big Man, the protagonist was very happy with a bean supper.

For some reason, whenever I think of a pot of beans, I think of "Blazing Saddles".
