Chris Christie: Rand Paul ‘dangerous’

Quote
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie is ripping libertarians — including Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) — for challenging government surveillance programs and failing to understand the dangers of terrorism.

“This strain of libertarianism that’s going through parties right now and making big headlines I think is a very dangerous thought,” the New Jersey GOP governor said on Thursday at a Republican governors forum in Aspen, Colo. “You can name any number of people and (Paul is) one of them.”

Christie, a potential 2016 candidate who appeared on the panel with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, said lawmakers who are questioning government surveillance programs should hear from the families affected by the Sept. 11 attacks.

Never liked Chris Christie. What a blowhard!!!!  :mental:

Chris Christie is only saying this because he'd choke on Rand Paul if Paul ever got within 100 meters of the fat bastard's blow hole.

I respected Christie...............until he groveled at the feet of hussein after the hurricane. The fact that he could lambast hussein in a couple of speeches, and then later beg hussein for a Federal bailout (a la New Orleans), months later tells you something about his character.

I'll remain a registered Republican for the time being, but I'm going to start voting Libertarian when possible.

BTW, I attended a county TEA Party meeting a couple of weeks ago, and sensed that there is a growing affinity between the TEA Party and the Libertarians. Republicans and Democrats were equally disparaged during the meeting. I even suggested that the TEA Party might think about join the Libertarian party. I think I'll push that at the next county meeting.

He just might, if the RINOs and the media orchestrate it like they did for McLame and rMoney.  I won't be voting for his fat RINO ass though...

Christie is a typical North Eastern Republican, meaning he is a big government progressive, but with certain underpinnings of financial/fiscal responsibility.

There are only two places where he really differs from Romney. He's staunchly pro-life, and he likes to bulldoze Jersey democrats and the media from time to time.

He's as anti-RKBA as the most Leftist DemonRat, I will not vote for the 'Lesser of two evils' when both of them peg my Evil Meter.  I gritted my teeth and voted for John Asshat McCain and again for Mitt, the VP picks in both cases eased the pain...I can't choke this one down.

I'm thinking the media and the RINOs will either force Christy or Jeb Bush as an alternative "conservative" candidate on us.

President Obama has done nothing to change the policies of the Bush administration in the war on terrorism. And I mean practically nothing,” he said.

Chris seems to be a great defender of Obama.

Quote
When asked if representatives vote to represent their district or to win a primary election, Christie replied:

“That depends on whether you are in a swing district or safe district...the ones in a safe district...in the main are voting to win the primary. There is an atmosphere that's been created in both parties that discourages working across the aisle...One of the things that is key...is the gerrymandering Congress. No longer do Republicans or Democrats, um, in the main, in the 435 districts have to worry about losing a general election. All they have to do is worry about, you know, getting through the primary. So, as a result, you will be attacked in the primary if you turn out to be someone who wants to work with the other side on any issue."

And if he is Hillary will be Prez, as much as it pains me to say that.

I have no respect for him outside of NJ.

Do you think Rand Paul sounds like a whiner sometimes?  I want a hard hitting, take no prisoners kind of leader.

Christie has that, but he's hitting all the wrong notes for me...

Christie has done a lot of great things for the State but for me personally? his hugging Obama and slobbering all over him after the Hurricane is unforgiveable.

He's soft on immigration, appointed Hamas loving Muslim judges, won't commit on 2nd amendment issues and has called conservatives  "crazies".  The more I see of him, the less I like him.

Actually in the aftermath of Newtown he made himself pretty damn' clear on the Second Amendment and RKBA.  He's ag'in' 'em.   I'm less than nuts about Rand Paul, but I'd take him over Christie in a heartbeat, Christie is a lot like a Democrat who can actually do math...the typical GOP mainline Fiscal(-Only) Conservative.

Rand Paul is pretty staunchly pro-life as well; I don't think he's the "libertarian" that his father is.

I've seen enough statements of his which just as quickly disappear down the memory hole to make me think that he's just better at hiding it than Dr. Nutz, Sr. On the other side of that, I am equally disturbed by his propensity to huff and puff when it doesn't matter, and then when the vote is called, all too readily falls into lockstep with the Ephialtes (RINO) wing GOP leadership.

All in all, I don't really know what to believe when it comes to Rand Paul.

Wanna know what I'm mostly worried about with Rand Paul? That his dad's cultists will show up here and piss me off enough to poison me from voting for the guy.

As a New Jerseyan who voted for Christie the first time, he won't get a second vote from me.  He pretends to be his own man but more often than not is nothing more than a contrarian for kicks.
The "grovel seen 'round the world" would have made me puke had we had electricity after Sandy hit NJ.  Our town was hit pretty hard because many homes were built along the river many years ago.  They will be bought by the state and the feds, 127 of them to be exact and then bulldozed.
He will be running in 2016, be sure of it.
