Obama: Economy is ‘back to where we were’
BY CHARLIE SPIERING | JULY 23, 2013 AT 6:55 AM
President Obama explained that the U.S. economy was back, during an address to his former campaign operation turned into a non-profit – Organizing for Action.
Obama reminded them that when he took office “the bottom had fallen out†of the national economy – citing rising inequality and middle class struggles.
“Now, the good news is over the last five years, we fought alongside people like Nancy Pelosi. But most importantly, because of the grit and resilience and determination of the American people, we’ve been able to clear away the rubble and get back to where we were,†Obama explained.
Yeah. Sure. (http://washingtonexaminer.com/obama-economy-is-back-to-where-we-were/article/2533353?custom_click=rss)

U.S.: A Stagnant Economy

What part of Stagnant Economy does he not understand ????
We’re still stuck in the muck.
We’re muddling along at basically the same pace we’ve been at for nearly four straight years of this dismal recovery, with growth too slow to make up the lost economic ground from the 2008-2009 recession.

Obama says it, so it is up to the Kneepad Media to make up the lies to prove it is true.
-
So we are back to the worst recession in history that 0bama was complaining about 5 years ago. Yippee!!!
-
More like he's succeeded in keeping the economy from ever fully recovering, period.
-
I thought the GOP crushed his every economic policy with cruel vindictiveness?
EXIT QUESTION: Does this mean he will be spending the last years of his term resting on his laurels instead of tinkering further?

He has no laurels, and his ego dictates that he just has to do more than tinker.

Still Bush's fault obviously.

Bingo!!!
...snip...
The National Bureau of Economic Research scored the recession as ending in June, 2009. Yet, today, in the 49th month (Earlier in the article it was explained that normally recessions last 10 months) since the recession started, there has still been no real recovery, like recoveries from previous recessions in America.
Unemployment actually rose after June, 2009, and did not fall back down below that level until 18 months later in December, 2010. Instead of a recovery, America has suffered the longest period of unemployment near 9% or above since the Great Depression, under President Obama’s public policy malpractice. Even today, 49 months after the recession started, the U6 unemployment rate counting the unemployed, underemployed and discouraged workers is still 15.2%. And that doesn’t include all the workers who have fled the workforce under Obama’s economic oppression. The unemployment rate with the full measure of discouraged workers is reported at www.shadowstats.com as about 23%, which is depression level unemployment.
Today, over 4 years since the recession started, there are still almost 25 million Americans unemployed or underemployed. That includes 5.6 million who are long-term unemployed for 27 weeks, or more than 6 months. Under President Obama, America has suffered the longest period with so many in such long-term unemployment since the Great Depression.

The article is a year old, but you get the point.

Uh, yeah, NO.
There would need to be 650K jobs created every month to get the employment levels back to what they were in 2008.
We're nowhere near being back.

"Back to where we were" means to me that I should be able to buy gas for $1.86/GL.
Nope, not seeing it...

You forget that gas was that cheap because the economy was so crappy. Now that the jug eared one has brought us so much prosperity gas prices are higher.
:rotf:
-
Did the President forget the part about his healthcare bill costing everyone full time jobs?
-
He lies so easily.
But a 4-year-old can see through the lies.
Why can't those adults of voting age be able to see through his lies? I'm speaking of those who voted for his goat-smelling ass.

I hear 1934 was a good year.......compared to Obama's time in office.

It was also before we were damned with his mere presence.

Geez. "Dedicated." ::)

Back to where we were...if you only look at the U3 number, and ignore the snail-like growth rate of the worst so-called recovery in US history, the 15 million additional people on food stamps, the 9 million who have dropped out of the work force entirely, the similar number of people who have finished their education and can't even get into it to be counted in the stat...

My annual income would be 3x's what it is now....
I'm not seeing it either.. :censored:

Okay, let's take Barruh at his word and assume his claim was true, which of course it isn't, but I digress.
So it only took FIVE YEARS TO GET THERE. Why so long, Barruh? Could your policies have had anything to do with it? Now don't go blaming Bush, because he too inherited a recession which was exacerbated by 9/11, and yet the jobless rate, etc., were back at pre-recession levels by the 2002 midterms.
Why couldn't you do the same, Barruh?
-
Only when pigs fly.

Same here.
I make about 1/3 of what I did several years ago. I do ok, it's just not like the good days.
-
Yeah, I'm doing so well that I took a $15K reduction in pay in 2012 from 2011, and I'm looking at taking another $10-15K hit this year. Yeah, I really love making $30K less than what I did two years ago for the same work, but the bills don't go down a dime.

Does anyone really believe what the "Lord Of The Lies" says anymore?

Does anyone really believe what the "Lord Of The Lies" says anymore?
I knew in the 2004 DNC speech that he gave that he was a flagrant liar. And I was appalled that he was elected even ONCE, not to mention three times -- as U.S. Senator, then president twice.
Un-effin-believable how so many people can be so incredibly blind.

The MSM does. They all tell him he has really good ideas--just ask him.
