A tale of Two Competing News Conferences.

July 23, 2013 (San Diego)—Two press conferences were held yesterday regarding the scandal in San Diego City Hall involving Mayor Bob Filner.
Prominent attorney Gloria Allred announced that she has filed a civil lawsuit against Mayor Filner on behalf of Irene McCormack-Jackson in Superior Court. McCormack-Jackson read a statement and her lawyer answered some questions from the media.

Usually tempest in teapot stay local. Filner was until last term a U.S Congressman. This is why this matters nationally. (The CBC crew surprised me).
But, but...it's a local story. I have to agree with my BIL, if all this will have things...emerge from his 20 years in DC.

We have stories of international importance (Egypt) and both msnbc and CNN are on a tragic local trial.
I changed the channel to my local fox station. They are actually covering things lie yes Egypt.

...he was a professor of history at SDSU when I was attending. There were rumors of a prof chasing skirts. I never really paid attention to that back them.
For some reason I don't think anybody's ever chased the cousin's skirt, unless he was blind and had not nostrils.

When do you suppose Miriam or Marian or whatever her name is, is going to realize that the cousin's a drag on the credibility of her publication? I can't believe she didn't see it a long time ago, and ditch the cousin.

Totally almost but not quite shocks me that someone that sends pictures of his love gun could run even for dog catcher much less Mayor of NYC.
Darn as an older lady yes I was fascinated to see the special member of a politician, or even a neighbor running for Sewer Commissioner.
Yeah well at my age I don't get to see strange Dicks to often nowadays. I have been out of nursing for 30 years and almost forgot what a healthy one looks like on a stranger.
This Mayor we are discussing sounds like a hoot to me, woman need to know how to handle the old goats and not quit their jobs because of them. As long as they keep their hands to themselves and not threaten their jobs, well, it should make the work place interesting to say the least.
Got to be creative here, who was the Judge that used a penis pump while trials were going on, court reporter and bailiffs knew but no one quit their jobs. They just waited to get evidence on him and then get him removed.
Men, well now I do remember a female supervisor that terrified a new hire. His wife was pregnant and superviser had the hots for him. She kept insisting he meet her after work at a bar in town so he made sure he brought along a couple of us coworkers. She made his life HELL at work, Poor guy, she had 15 years seniority to most of us not to mention him, so he quit. This stuff happens, one has to be able to deflect the comments and what ever. I have never met a pervert boss, I am sure some are out there, perhaps thousands of them.
On the other hand I have met more female coworkers that want to sleep their way to the top. It seldom works, but the idiots are used until another female comes along that is younger and smarter then they are.
This Mayor is dangerous, he has not the survival methods to cover his tracks.

It's my theory that hubby, having spent weeks sealed up in the metal tube of a sub, saw the walking manatee Nadin and mistook her for a female in much the same fashion. Perhaps with a fifth of Jack to help spark the delusion.

Another woman came forward today to report an unwanted advance by Mayor Bob Filner, telling KPBS News in an exclusive interview that the then-congressman patted her “posterior†while making a crude joke at a crowded fundraiser.
All of the accusations, statements and apologies from the key players in the developing story about allegations of sexual harassment in Mayor Bob Filner's office and calls from former mayoral supporters for his resignation.
Laura Fink, the owner of the political consulting firm Fink & Hernandez Consulting LLC, worked for then-Congressman Bob Filner from 2004 to 2006.
Laura Fink, who runs a political consulting firm, told KPBS that she was working as Filner’s deputy campaign manager when the incident occurred at a San Diego fundraising event in 2005.
Fink said she documented the incident in an email to Filner’s personal account; in it she demanded an apology.
