So if we boycott Florida does that mean Florida is going to boycott it's electoral votes from us?

Can you really foresee a situation in which we as a left wing movement inflict economic pain on a swing state and then have it turn around and vote for our candidate in 2016?

I suppose possibly losing an election is the price we must pay to conduct economic warfare on 19 million people who had zero say in the way the verdict came down. I'm sure the 3 million black Floridians will be very grateful if you manage to harm their local economy.

:sarcasm:

1. 1/4 of those black floridians can't vote anyway. they're disenfranchised by florida law.

2. Similiar numbers in Virginia and many other states.

Just like the stand your ground laws, apparently it only deserves a boycott if Florida does it.

5. nope, not in 'many other states' at all. Florida leads the nation, and there are only a few states

anywhere near it.

Florida is in a class of its own on this matter.

Here's a thought:

Don't be a felon.

7. Paramilitary groups, skinheads, and the Klan will make Florida their vacation destination.

Let them have it.

Decent people need to know that their kids are in danger in Florida.

You didn't read the OP, did you?

8. You think, they are tracking who's NOT buying their stuff?

Movements don't boycott. Individuals boycott.

9. Right, they're not going to figure out it's Democrats

 :thatsright:

Oh shit!

PhDDs had a lucid thought!

10. So, whenever Florida's tourism-industry has a low from now on...

IT'S THE DEMOCRATS FAULT.

Move over "Why do you hate America?"
From now on it's "Why do you hate Florida?"

Oh, and if you are not falling for Rick Perry's PR-campaign and moving your business to Texas: "Why do you hate Texas?"

If you want a boycott you WANT to see its tourism slump because you hate what the target is doing.

11. If you think this boycott is going to be top secret

it's going to be pretty damn useless.

"TWO! Two lucid thoughts. Ah-ah-ah!"

14. There are two kinds of boycotts and we are obviously talking about different ones:

The first kind is more like a demonstration and seeks to achieve its goals through threat and publicity, rather than action.

The second kind is silent and seeks to achieve its goals through action and economic consequences.

I boycott Apple and Coca-Cola for moral reasons (exploiting workers; assassinating union-leaders), but that doesn't mean that I drum up a campaign to achieve maximum publicity for that cause.

Yes, that would explain all the liberal race agitators and leftist celebrities running around screaming their intentions.

12. they had plenty to say

in electing their state representatives

it's a miracle they went for Obama.

Still the presidency is not everything. The state of Florida seems very red otherwise.

Like Obama, Grayson and Nelson?

13. The boycott isn't going to do anything

and if it ever could be used by the reich wing, the perception of it would indeed be used successfully against us.

I hope they tie themselves in knots worrying about the ins and outs of something that won't have any measurable effect even if they do try it.

For a bunch of idiots who always complain about not having two nickels to rub together, how are they going to boycott anything?

They're totally not gonna swipe their pre-paid Occu-pie debit cards (with a 99-cent monthly service fee) inside Florida, man!

Ok... whether the verdict was right or wrong in your eyes, why the hell would you boycott a whole state because of it?

Not that your little boycott would do anything, but what if it did?  You would punish a bunch of people that had nothing to do with the verdict?

Makes absolutleyno****ingsense.

Don't have one, but I am sure it would show positive growth.

Is it just me or does that sound like the dictionary definition of terrorism.

Me, I'm going to boycott all the entertainment illiteratti that are boycotting Florida. Of course that won't be too hard as I don't like most of them, don't know most of the rest, and Stevie Wonder hasn't put out a good album in two decades.

Kanye West glorifies the thug culture that lead Martin to his ill-considered assault on Zimmerman.

Maybe if West played fewer venues altogether Martin would still be alive.

And in case any lurkers think I'm being hyperbolic just watch the animation on his website:

No matter what the DUmp does, poor innocent li'l Trayvon is still as dead as the round red sodomite.

Not just merely dead, but really most sincerely dead.

Which reminds me, has it been established that coach was NOT in the state of Florida on the evening when poor, innocent li'l Trayvon went to his reward?

Yes.  Disenfranchised by their own laziness or inbred sense of victimhood.

Given the effectiveness of the Liberals previous protests...this one could be equally as devastating.   :rotf:

Actually, he referring to the fact that felons can't vote in FL.

It's still a self-inflicted "disenfranchisement" and I'm OK with that. The remedy is wholly within their power and should anyone -- of any color -- choose to pursue it not only will they be better off but the entirety of society as well.
