To be delivered to:
The Florida State House, The Florida State Senate, Governor Rick Scott,
The United States House of Representatives, The United States Senate, and President Barack Obama
Petition Background
Recently in Florida Trayvon Martin attacked George Zimmerman and Zimmerman defended himself.
Now the gun grabbers want to try to repeal the stand your ground gun law.
Even that zimmerman did not use this defense.

I bet moveon.org puts a stop to this petition when they figure out it is on their site.

It's a trap. They just want to get information from conservatives so they can harass them later on.

I live in Florida and read the news regularly and this is the first I've heard of this. There was nothing today at the local news site I frequent

Stand Your Ground protesters occupy FL governor’s office for second week
http://watchdog.org/96937/stand-your-ground-protesters-occupy-fl-governors-office-for-second-week/
TALLAHASSEE – Will the protesters get what they want? It’s a question only time can answer.
Roughly two dozen members of the group Dream Defenders began their second week occupying Florida Gov. Rick Scott’s office at the state Capitol on Monday.
The two sides are at odds over the Stand Your Ground provision in the state’s self-defense laws, Florida Statutes, Chapter 776.
They are still at it. :mental:

Don't they have any rubber bullets in Florida?

Don't they have any rubber bullets in Florida?
From the pictures I've seen it looks like they might be violating the capacity of the office. The fire marshall could order them to leave or have them arrested. :fuelfire:
-
Don't they have any rubber bullets in Florida?
Use a fire hose and hose'em. :fuelfire: :lmao:

Don't they have any rubber bullets in Florida?
But then they would still be around to come back the next day. :whistling:

Why rubber bullets. Use the real thing.

Use a fire hose and hose'em. :fuelfire: :lmao:
They could probably use a shower by now anyway.
-
I wonder how long they will keep doing this for.
-
They want a repeal of the "stand your ground" laws... they're too freaking stupid to know that Zimmerman's defense didn't even use it in the trial because it wasn't necessary.

Dream Defender protests costing taxpayers thousands
http://www.actionnewsjax.com/content/topstories/story/Dream-Defender-protests-costing-taxpayers/whHdDZsLZkeWo3iwuiv4Gg.cspx
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- The Florida Department of Law Enforcement says the Dream Defenders protests in the state Capitol have cost taxpayers nearly $149,000 in added security.
The FDLE says its staffing has doubled since the demonstrations began 11 days ago. Friday evening, agents from the FDLE Tallahassee regional operations center were called in so the capitol police force can get some rest.
Meanwhile the Dream Defenders are not showing any signs of leaving. Until their demands are met, the activist group has vowed to occupy the governor's office, even if it means spending the night on the the floor.
They have been there for about 2 weeks. How long are they going to be there????????????? :mental:

Dream Defenders continue protest, FDLE disputes lack of food
http://www.tallahassee.com/article/20130729/NEWS01/307290014/Dream-Defenders-continue-protest-FDLE-disputes-lack-of-food
Dream Defenders Executive Director Philip Agnew has said he knew the group would have to “get comfortable with being uncomfortable†during its now-13-day sit in at the Capitol.
The activists reached a new level of “uncomfortable†over the weekend — the group said Capitol Police stopped food from coming into the building, leaving a group of about 50 protesters with little more than snack items and a few cups of water. Reports from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement indicate that’s not accurate.
Agnew insists the Dream Defenders aren’t going anywhere. Ciara Taylor, political director for the Dream Defenders, said spirits are high.
Almost 14 days. I wonder if they are going keep doing this for the rest of the year. Give it up!!!!! :mental:

‘Dream Defenders’ dig in at Florida Capitol, demand justice for Trayvon Martin
http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2013/jul/30/dream-defenders-dig-florida-capitol-demand-justice/
A core group of about 15 “Dream Defenders†— so-dubbed for their stated belief in the need for legislative justice for slain 17-year-old Trayvon Martin — have dug in Tuesday outside the Florida Capitol building, refusing to leave until lawmakers pass a bill to moot the state’s “stand your ground†gun laws.
The group started its sit-in at the Capitol shortly after Florida resident George Zimmerman was acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges in the killing of Martin.
Then, they demanded a meeting with Gov. Rick Scott, pressing him to call a special session so lawmakers could take action and unravel what they characterized as Florida’s “unjust†gun laws, Sunshine State News reported. Mr. Scott did finally meet with them — but did not meet their demands.
Sunshine State News reported the number of “Dream Defenders†who are still outside the Capitol building stands at about 15 — down considerably from the dozens who stormed the offices, demanding justice, in the past couple weeks.

Students still standing their ground at Florida Capitol
http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2013/08/01/students-protest-florida-capitol-zimmerman/2609059/
You've seen Occupy Wall Street. … Now meet the Dream Defenders — a student organization that has taken up occupation in Florida's Capitol building.
For more than two weeks, the Dream Defenders have staged a sit-in just outside Gov. Rick Scott's office to protest the state's controversial "stand your ground" law, among other concerns.
The group began organizing immediately after the Zimmerman verdict July 13 and orchestrated a march of hundreds of students within an hour.
They are still doing this. :mental:

Florida’s ‘Dream Defenders’ Still Going Strong
http://www.michronicleonline.com/index.php/rtm-news-reel/13830-florida’s-‘dream-defenders’-still-going-strong-video
A group of student revolutionaries known as the Dream Defenders has occupied Florida’s Capitol building for the sixteenth day, refusing to leave until Gov. Rick Scott reevaluates the state’s ‘Stand Your Ground’ laws, reports USA Today.
Forming immediately after George Zimmerman was found ‘not guilty’ of murdering Trayvon Martin on July 13, 2013, the group’s numbers have ebbed and flowed, but their presence has remained constant.
They are still at it. It has been nearly a month since George Zimmerman was acquitted. :mental:

Dream Defenders Livin' Large in State Hotel (Thank you, Taxpayers!)
http://www.sunshinestatenews.com/blog/dream-defenders-livin-large-state-hotel-thank-you-taxpayers
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement reports that the overtime bill for Sunday security at the Capitol during the 27th day of the Dream Defenders' sleep-in was $7,407.86. That's for the one night.
Let's see now ...
There were 10 Dream Defenders who spent the night. That makes the OT costs approximately $740.79 for every protester.
They cost taxpayers money. It has been nearly a month they took up residence in the Capitol. School is almost in session and they should think about school starting. :mental:

Dream Defenders end sit-in protest at Capitol in Tallahassee
http://www.miamiherald.com/2013/08/15/3564934/dream-defenders-end-sit-in-protest.html
TALLAHASSEE -- They weren’t able to convince Gov. Rick Scott to call a special session on the controversial Stand Your Ground self-defense law.
But the student activists known as the Dream Defenders drew national attention to their cause by holding the longest sit-in demonstration in the Florida Capitol in recent memory.
On Thursday, the Miami-based group announced that their record-setting protest was over — for now, at least.
“After 31 days and 30 nights, we are leaving the Capitol for our next phase,†Dream Defenders Executive Director Phillip Agnew said.
It is finally over. They did this for 31 days. :mental:

And accomplished... What???
Trayvon Martin still fully employed as a worm feeder? Check.
George Zimmerman still free, armed and on this side of the grass? Check.
Stand Your Ground law still has no bearing on Zimmerman's degree of incarceration? Check.

I remember something of Martin Anderson. It happened around the time of the Duke Lacrosse Case with Crystal Mangum. Following the acquittal of Henry Dickens, Charles Enfinger, Patrick Garrett, Raymond Hauck, Charles Helms Jr., Henry McFadden Jr., Joseph Walsh II, and Kristin Schmidt, protesters shouted "No justice. No peace!" Same thing with Trayvon Martin. :mental: By the way, the guards were diverse, Black, White, and Asian. Two are Black and one is Asian.

Scott would have let them sit forever. I'm glad that he didn't cave in to those morons. I'm not a fan of all that Scott does, feel that he's catered too much to the teachers her, but at least on ths he didn't raise that white flag of surrender.
