U.S. Will Begin Exporting Its “Fracked†Gas
American drillers have done so well with the controversial method of hydraulic fracturing (fracking) to reach underground stores of natural gas that they now have too much on their hands and want to export some of it abroad. But such a move could result in higher gas prices in the U.S., as well as even more fracking operations that can endanger the environment.
In Louisiana, Cheniere Energy's $10-billion Sabine Pass natural gas terminal originally built to import natural gas is now being converted to facilitate the shipping of fracking-produced gas to Great Britain. Initial shipments are scheduled for 2015, with nearly 20 tons of natural gas to be transported per year.
Companies such as Exxon Mobil and Sempra Energy have asked the Obama administration for permission to export as much as 29 billion cubic feet of natural gas a day.
These efforts represent quite a turnaround for the industry. Less than a decade ago, domestic production of natural gas was so low that facilities were being built in U.S. ports to import foreign natural gas.

I love fracking, not just for the economic potential, but for all the DUmmy tears.

That fracking movie notwithstanding, this is ONE item that we are, thankfully, way ahead of the socialists. Since the footprints of fracking is much smaller (on the surface), it can be done in far more places than conventional energy development. In particular, there are far more PRIVATE places it could be done, so no national geo-locations need be necessary such as national parks and lands. Obama had just killed coal on Monday by increasing the carbon tax above the point where it can be profitably produced, but they are way behind in producing realistic-sounding junk science meme's to kill fracking.
To that end, it will be difficult even for Obama to produce the necessary documentation to effectively stop fracking that will hold up in the courts; more pragmatically, it can't prevent a stay so that drilling can go on if a court challenge is indeed brought out by Obama/EPA. This is key, because the quantity of energy has been way beyond what was expected even among the actual producers. Obama's only real chance is to throttle the TRANSPORTATION of such fuel, pragmatically slowing the industry down.
However, if Obama gets the House and maintains the current senate makup and edge (both unlikely), he can demand legislation that will shut fracking down. I'm glad that fracking wasn't yet successful as it has been between 2009-2010, otherwise it probably would have been fasttracked to oblivion, and nobody would have noticed because everyone was watching Obamacare.

Why is the left so afraid of technologically innovative advances? Or are they just against anything or anyone that will help the economic conditions of the USA?

fracking = lower cost energy
lower cost energy = higher productivity
higher productivity = more capitalism
more capitalism = more freedom
more freedom = less centralized control
less centralized control = less socialism
less socialism = unhappy DUmmie
Therefore
fracking = unhappy DUmmie
Now the question is "Why are they against it?" It's because they are inherently jealous about anyone who has any success. They feel that productive success is done at the expense of the "little man"/black/minority/whaterver, and need to feel justified in not producing. This is a key factor of socialism in general.

It's so funny how the DUmmies like to say conservatives don't like science, yet they are against science that produced fracking.

There is only ONE science the libs are for: Stem Cell Research. And that's because it justifies killing babies.

If we're exporting, why the eff am I paying over 3.60 a gallon?!?!

Um, their talking about natural gas.

Details, details!!!! :argh:
Never let facts get in the way of a good rant.
lol. Oops. Reading comprehension. I has it.

Thanks. Actually, politics IS mathematical, particularly with regard to the amount of individual freedoms people are accorded, with greater weight given to actual ability to be free (i.e. economics) than with social freedom. It's not really all that complicated, though everyone tries to make it such. But you can actually copy the equation above and replace a few of the top equations with consistent accuracy. Isaac Asimov was my inspiration in this regard with his epic science fiction masterpiece, the Foundation Trilogy, which used the mathematical projections of large populations (in the story, billions and trillions of people) to predict how society would evolve.
(Geez, the amount of spare time I have since "Ban Ban" is killing me LOL)
