gNads is hunkered down in herapartmentcommand bunker. She is wearing firefighter's turnout gear over a WWII flak vest, HAZMAT gloves, and a WWII surplus Tommy helmet. Her 10" Bowie knife is tucked into a boot, and "Betsy", the retired addled submarine chief's Navy service revolver, is close at hand. She is surrounded by case after case of MMREs (Mexican Meals, Ready to Eat- canned frijoles) and shelf-stable milk. She is clutching her camouflaged iPhone in one gloved hand, watching the tweets; listening to LAPD scanner traffic on her laptop; and watching KABC's live news coverage on TV.
Sweat runs down gNads' fivehead and pools in her neckfolds. She mutters in an odd Polish/Mexican/English pidgin as she frantically types her "reports" onto the iPhone with a pudgy gloved finger, and praises herself for providing such a service to DU and the Weekly Pennysaver readers- with no thought for her own safety!
Meanwhile, the addled retired submarine chief went to the local pub hours ago, and is busily drinking himself into a stupor. He knows he can't go home while gNads is at DEFCON ULTRA. In his heart, he hopes a young urban youth is waiting outside to play the Knockout Game with him and put him out of his misery. His last words before he passes out onto the bar: "Frijoles and canned milk...Oh, God. I coulda married a Filipino tranny. Why, why?"

'Ghetto booty' diagnosis angers patient
http://www.12newsnow.com/story/22840646/ghetto-booty-diagnosis-angers-patient
A Tennessee woman is filing a complaint after she said her doctor used an offensive term while giving her a diagnosis.
Terry Ragland went to a doctor looking for treatment for her severe lower back pain.
Ragland said she was seen by a nurse, then the doctor, who sent her to get an X-ray.
When he came back into the exam room, Ragland said the doctor gave her a diagnosis not seen in any medical book.
"He said, 'I know what the problem is. It's ghetto booty,' and I said, 'Ghetto what?' He said, 'Ghetto booty,'" Ragland said. "He said, 'There's no cure for it, but I could give you something if you're having pain.'"
"'Ghetto booty" As the AIDS epidemic was dying out, I was wondering what they were going to replace it with. Ghetto booty, The new incurable scourge. I'm already working on research grant applications.
Tue Jul 16, 2013, 12:07 PMIt's kind of a funny thread to read. It died rather quickly.

So last night we had two proto-riots
One in Oakland and one in LA.
Now after we finished following it I would like to call attention to the targets of popular anger
Walmart
McDonald's
National banks (Comerica and Wells Fargo)
And finally...media. and numerous other small businesses.
Yes, there were some cars, trash cans and windows also hurt in this.
No, it is not about scary whatever...it is about anger, deep seeded anger at forces that not only keep the current order in place, but benefit from it.
This was not like the Rodney King riots where people went at another minority who was perceived as an interloper. No, the targets were mostly national symbols. As well as the media. Did small businesses lose windows in Oakland? Yes...but the major targets were banks...that refuse to give loans to minorities, in particular African Americans. Or when they do, they take advantage.
In LA the target were two minimum wage places that mostly help to keep people in a new form of indentured servitude. As well as banks.
No, nobody benefits from any violence...at all, full stop, end of discussion...but the targets of the anger are indeed telling.
What is also telling is what some here have said about occupy provocateurs. It is telling since at least people saying that understand at a deep level it's the same targets of anger. What this white, middle class, hipster analysis misses is that minorities are also angry at the same exact targets. The anger is roiling just under the surface.
And I would like to add, the other side of the coin are the claims of racism, for reporting a news event, as it is happening. This is also denial of what happened. And I personally find it insulting to be called a racist for actually following something that might be distasteful, and chiefly unhelpful and playing into the worst of impressions that the right wanted.
These proto riots did happen...go argue with those who were there...but calling us freepers is kind of funny on steroids.
Myself...I hope that today's marches remain very peaceful...as in the paragon of it. The cops are itching for it. No they're not, you insufferable git.

10. I was at SDSU at the time
I got a funny story. Like last night I was following the action over the scanner. Yup, I took my radio to school that day. Why I know of the "riot" in San Diego. It was small, and local media never covered it. It was limited to 72nd street and a few streets north and south.
We still had an event that afternoon, I told the head of my program that it was not gonna happen, and they would close the campus. (Two miles from 70th). Of course what would a student know until that is he was called by the president of the university no less. Yup, campus is closed.
It was recommended that weekend not to go to my shift in TJ since my uniform could be mistaken for a cops uniform. Back then cops wore khaki in San Diego.
No last night it was small. It was really nothing more than a few broken windows. But the targets to me were very telling.
It is roiling under the surface...that anger is wide spread. Spark, I think that's all that is needed.
I turned my local scanner due to what happens during those riots.
My gNads translator is broken. Anybody have any idea what this is? :???: :???:
Well done! Hi5!No but that is the sound you hear when gnads backs up.
I don't know much about airships. Do they make that "aaa-OOO-gaaa" horn sound? I look at that picture, read "airships instructing cruiser to comb the area", and hear "aaa-OOO-gaaa, aaa-OOO-gaaa!"
San Diego.
Shit. I'm just in San Diego.
This reminds me of the O.J. trial when he was questioned about why the police found his blood all over the place. At the crime scene of the OJ murders, the shoe prints of Bruno Magli shoes were found formed when the blood was wet. OJ said he would never wear any pair of ugly ass Bruno Magli shoes. Then a photograph of OJ wearing the exact same shoes surfaced. Conclusion...someone wearing OJ Simpson's Bruno Magli shoes walked right through the middle of the scene of the crime at or slightly after the time of the crime.
"I don't know, man. I bleed all the time."
