This is what TRAP laws do: Fairfax City abortion clinic, busiest in Virginia, closes

A women’s health care clinic in Fairfax City that performed more abortions than any other location in Virginia has closed, and it’s unclear whether it will reopen elsewhere.

The closure, and the clinic’s difficulty finding new space, highlight a growing issue in the abortion debate: changes in local and state regulations and standards for abortion clinics.

NOVA Women’s Healthcare was in an office building on Eaton Place, just off Route 123 near Interstate 66, since 2006. Antiabortion protesters stood outside the building daily, the clinic was sued twice in the past three years by its landlord, and it likely faced a need to upgrade or move after Virginia changed its regulations to require abortion providers to have hospital-grade facilities.

After finding a possible alternative space in March, the clinic applied for a nonresidential use permit to retrofit that space in another office building. But the permit was denied in May because officials decided parking at the building was not adequate, zoning administrator Michelle Coleman said.

TRAP laws (Targeted Regulation of Abortion Providers) are a 100x more dangerous to abortion rights and abortion services than the more draconian laws that grab headlines- like life beginning at conception, or 20 week bans. They're harder to fight in court and not as many cases are brought.

They shut clinic doors.

DUmmies are sad because some unborn children may now be given the chance to live.

1. It says a lot about DU that the only threads surer to sink than abortion threads

are drone threads.

consider this a well placed kick.

Don't feel bad Cali all your fellow DUmmies absolutely adore abortion.

7. Even on DU, there isn't enough support

for abortion rights to keep threads up and enough activism at the ballot box to prevent the laws from being passed.

People don't get that the affected population of potential users of abortion clinic services aren't just 16-45 year old poor women.

Oh please everyone of you fools love abortion. The women so they can can have power over men, and the males at DU love abortion in hopes of getting laid.

9. So much concern for fetuses; so little concern for children.

Or humans in general once they're born. I do not understand the mentality of of abortion protesters. They think their job is done once a baby is born? Wipe their hands of all responsibility. Or if a woman dies because of the lack of care she needs, do they really think they aren't culpable? They are.

That's right you don't understand the mentality of abortion protesters. In your tiny mind a fetus is just a clump of cells, you can't comprehend that the unborn are just as human as any of us.

This mentality that if we don't support taking money from other people to buy them all x boxes and big screen tee vees makes us not care is insane. We think that people are quite capable of figuring out things for themselves.

10. They aren't just chipping

away at abortion rights, they're knocking big chunks out. It is tragic the way this has been happening before our very eyes and it seems there is little we can do to stop it. "Never again" is turning into "Here we go again."

K&R

Abortion is tragic. You morons care you claim so much about the defenseless, yet the most innocent and the most defenseless amongst us are not worthy of even the right to life. How can you sleep at night knowing you support murder?

Is Cali just mad because she was never impregnated and thus able to enjoy the thrill of having an abortion or what?

Sounds like it.

The disappointment displayed by the Libs over the fact they won't get to engage in the bloodlust of killing an unborn child is sickening.

We as a society should be ashamed.

How DARE Virginia insist that abortion be done in a medical-grade facility!

 :panic:

In addition to murder, abortion is, after all, surgery.

I thought they were "concerned" with the wymmns' healf? Nope. Just with the murder of innocents.

****ing vile ghouls.

No regulations for abortion clinics but tons of regulations on every other business (& it is a very profitable business) to bankrupt them.

More cognitive dissonance.

An Earwig infestation can be a real downer when you are trying to be impregnated.

From the Washington Post article, second page, second to last paragraph:

Quote
In April, Eaton Place sued NOVA in Fairfax General District Court for failure to pay $95,000 in back rent. In June, NOVA agreed to pay the back rent and surrender the space, court records show.

Do you think that might have something to do with the abortion clinic closing, DU idiots?

Or this:

Quote
In addition, the filings said, NOVA clients had been seen regularly inside the building “lying down in corridors . . . and, in some instances, even vomiting.” One filing said witnesses would testify that this was a daily occurrence.

This is the owner of the abortion mill:

Quote
The owner (http://www.lifesitenews.com/news/troubled-virginia-abortion-clinic-closed-saturday-after-botched-abortion-ex) of Nova, Mi Yong Kim, surrendered her medical license in 2007 after botched abortions and one abortion-related patient death brought repeated Board disciplinary actions. Her New York medical license was revoked in 2000.

So liberals want clinics with no health standards and butchers to operate them. Why do liberals hate women?

Because women (like ethnic minorities, the poor, and even the gheys) are not allowed an existence of their own, in the liberal mind they can only exist in so far as they further their purposes.

DUmmies, I can't understand the cognitive dissonance that you have on this subject.  On one hand, you insist that it is nothing more than a basic medical procedure, then on the other you complain about regulating it like any other medical procedure.  That, more than anything, tells me that abortion really is just about wanting to kill the unborn.

Couldn't agree more.

Need parental consent to give a child an asprin - need utter secrecy to give a child an abortion.
Need high regulatory standards to operate a medical facility - shouldn't ever have any inspection of abortuaries.

I'm sure we could all go on all day...

Liberalism gives me a headache.
There's a constitutional right to privacy for abortions, but obamacare gives the government complete access to every American's health records.
We have an obesity problem, but suggesting restrictions on food stamps is racist.
Birth control pills and mammograms must be available for free but not, say, insulin or high blood pressure medication.
