Chick-fil-a is at it again
ATLANTA (AP) — The president of the fast-food restaurant chain Chick-fil-A has once again injected himself into the gay marriage debate, this time criticizing U.S. Supreme Court rulings.

Dan Cathy posted a comment Wednesday on Twitter criticizing a pair of U.S. Supreme Court rulings. Those decisions will extend federal recognition to same-sex marriages in the states where they are legal, and will add California — the most populous state — to the 12 others in that category.

“Sad day for our nation; founding fathers would be ashamed of our gen. to abandon wisdom of the ages re: cornerstone of strong societies,” Cathy wrote, according to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The post was later deleted.

Chick-fil-A issued a statement acknowledging the post, saying Cathy was offering a personal comment.

“Dan recognizes his views do not necessarily represent the views of all Chick-fil-A customers, restaurant owners and employees, so he removed the tweet to eliminate any confusion,” the company said.

bullshit.

That all these ****ers are quite literally killing each other with their shitty food makes the whole spectacle of huffy resentment almost funny.

13. Only issue is

They don't franchise like most do. With their model you get to buy into the business but you don't own the actual restaurant. I have yet to see one Chick Fil A not do well, anywhere.

16. There's a reason Chick fil A does well

Their food tastes good. Really good. Yeah, it's not good enough for the DUers who seem to only dine in five-star restaurants, but those are damn good chicken sandwiches.
Do you go to five-star restaurants with your EBT Card?

12. I think the donations to organizations by the company to

Groups advocating the death penalty for homosexuality bothered the decent folk among us.

Now, granted the janitors at the Nazi death camps weren't pushing people into the gas chambers, but some folk believe they are tainted by association with their employers.

Welcome to DU.
That has been proven false.

14. Please show me

Where Cathy said anything about death penalty for homosexuality. If you can, I will agree with you about him, otherwise you are a fool to add the Nazi example to this argument.

15. When you support groups advocating the death penalty for gays,

the Nazi analogy is appropriate. Go google some of this stuff; it was widely reported. (Or did you think people were getting upset for the joy of a good tizzy? What part of "hate group" was unclear?)

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/07/02/chick-fil-a-anti-gay-group-donations-_n_1644609.html

Chick-fil-A is quickly becoming more well-known for its alleged anti-gay donations than for its fried chicken.

As reported by Equality Matters and The Advocate -- among other publications -- a newly-released analysis of Chick-fil-A's charitable work has found that the fast found chain donated nearly $2 million to anti-gay groups over the course of 2010.

Among the many groups to receive donations through Chick-fil-A's WinShape Foundation, which was created by Chick-fil-A founder and chairman S. Truett Cathy in 1984, were the Marriage & Family Foundation ($1,188,380), Exodus International ($1,000) and the Family Research Council (also $1,000), Equality Matters reported.

Meanwhile, The New Civil Rights Movement's David Badash presents an even more disturbing figure: that Chick-fil-A has donated an estimated $5 million to anti-gay organizations and hate groups between 2003 and 2010.
Invoking Godwin's Law.  :mental:

22. Try again

Still did not see where Cathy said anything about wanting Gays killed. I grow so tired of people using the Nazi term to defend their causes. Show me 6,000,000 dead LBGT people and you can start the comparison, until then, grow up.

23. Yeah, the 6 million stat is a canard

Hitler didn't start out intending to kill 6 million jews. So if the hate groups end up killing only, say, a thousand, we're going to come them to other genocidals.

And Ida provided you with 3 hate groups to which the Cathys have contributed large sums of money. These groups and others have advocated all manner of "retribution" against gays, up to and including murder.

I'm already grown up

29. So you are saying

Hitler did not intend to kill 6,000,000 Jews, you are correct, it intended to kill all of them. So now you are also saying that he did not kill 6,000,000 so you are a holocaust denier as well. Got it.
Doctor J and WhataKnight duke it out.

Queers were fundamental in bringing Hitler to power......and when the Democrats are though using them.....well, Hitler showed them what to do.

Does a person lose their right to criticize the government when they become rich and successful?  I guess the DUmmies will never have to worry about losing that right.

Many on DU will blindly believe any statistic that confirms any preconceived notion they have. "If it is something that I believe to be true then I don't need to research it, it must be fact."

It's all about intentions with libs. Not actual real life results.

I'm sure the intention of Roe v. Wade wasn't to kill 50 million potential humans, but it sure turned out that way, and the DUmmies will KILL anyone whosoever tries to curtail their desire to sacrifice the unborn to their "god".
