Title: Paula Deen: A modern-day lynching (Blackmail?)
Post by: mrclose on July 03, 2013, 07:19:30 PM
This sound .. not quite right to you?

Quote
When Deen refused to pay $1.25 million in hush money last year to a former employee of her brother’s restaurant — a white woman who claimed, among other things, that Deen’s brother was guilty of racial discrimination — the lynch mob began forming.

“Exposure of the racist and sexist culture of her corporate and personal life is going to permanently, and irreparably, damage the value of the brand,” Savannah attorney S. Wesley Woolf warned in a Jan. 31, 2012, demand letter to Deen’s lawyer. He stated that “if we are unable to settle, the Complaint will not be quietly filed. I am making arrangements for a press conference on the day of the filing. I have identified the journalist for the New York Times who covers civil rights matters and he will be provided a pre-filing exclusive. A nationwide press release will be issued to the major networks, newspapers, newsmagazines and news websites across the country.”

And finally, the closer: “I hope that upon full and deliberate consideration of this offer, (your clients) will come to understand that the small price they quietly pay and that my client quietly accepts will allow Paula Deen a chance to salvage a brand that can continue to have value.”

If an attorney has managed to get it on the docket, they instantly immunize themselves.

M and I were talking about this whole mess with Paula Deen last night.

Maybe we've been reading too many fiction conspiracy books lately, but this whole thing seems entirely too orchestrated. And has succeeded in getting almost every single one of her sponsors to drop her.... and very quickly too. Especially with all the fans who have continued to support her. Deciding to not publish her cookbook, that was #1 on Amazon AFTER this whole mess came to light, and not even due out until fall?

Too many other people in the entertainment/sports field have done things, no where near what Paula Deen has done, and yet nothing has happened to them.

This whole thing struck us as someone with a huge vendetta against Paula Deen, and merely used this lawsuit as a stepping stone to taking her down. It's like they had everything lined up to crash, like one of those Domino maze things, where you tap the first one and they all plunk down one after another..... her comments were released to the press.... and plunk! went everything ....

Her brother is the real problem.

This whole thing pisses me off, reminds me of a family that won a small lottery and out of the bushes jumped people that had been her neighbors many years ago to claim the wife who baby sat for them way back when had sexually abused the children.   The demanded 3/4 of the winnings to keep this quiet.

For heavens sake, I can think of a few people in my past 30 years ago that were down right nasty to me, so when they the bully's come into some money I am going to sue them for taunting me with the name " Frog, or Canuck ".

Just the old same song and dance for the swindlers and those just waiting to jump on a gravy train that others with luck or skill get in life.

Bull Patty's,  and Hog Shit,   I apologise to no one for the past or the present, things were as they were at the time and are so today.

I am making a list of all my ancestors that died in battle up to today and will sue the governments or States that killed them.
