Title: IMO this Republican Health Insurance Bill is as corrupt as most politicians
Post by: Ballygrl on July 02, 2013, 06:02:34 PM
That's the comment some fool made in reference to Obama delaying Obamacare until after the mid-terms:

HUGE: White House Delaying Key Obamacare Provision For A Year

...to make this happen. I know that there have been employers from major corporations that have been laying off employees currently because of this mandate so what now will the corps hire them back.....likely not.

This is not a victory for employees.

the big savings supposed to materialize? I'm scared the whole thing is going to be undone and we'll be left with nothing to provide healthcare.

3. IMO this Republican Health Insurance Bill is as corrupt as most politicians.

Why should the government force business to provide health insurance for it's employees. It is not the responsibility of business to provide such care and for the government to fine business $100,000. or more if they refuse to do what should be the responsibility of Government. Afterall the main purpose of Government is to maintain the Health and Welfare of the Nation.. That is not the main purpose of Business. It does not surprise me in the slightest that so many Americans are opposed to this horible piece of legislation.

14. How many republicans voted for this "Republican Health Insurance Bill"?

The number was pretty close to 0 was it not? There were certainly more more members of the Progressive Caucus voting for it than republicans.

15. Who wrote the Bill?

It was written by the very same man that wrote Romney's Health Care Bill and is almost word for word...It originated in the Heritage Foundation as a rebuttal to Hillary's Health Care proposals. It was opposed almost unanimously by Democrats in 1995.

GOP pretty much was thumbs down on it then and has kept running against it ever since.

This was supposed to be the great Democratic triumph.

28. I think I figured it out - it's health care workers (low-paid)

The reimbursements for nursing home/home health care are mostly fixed by Medicare and Medicaid, and they are very low.

The rates paid literally won't pay for health insurance. These groups got exemptions from the current requirements early on.

So next year, either the government will have to increase reimbursement rates or I think there would be a huge staffing problem.

Otherwise I can see no explanation.

Who paid off Obama.. Cracka, Please.

This delay is simply to try to stop Democrats from losing seats in 2014 over a massively unpopular bill that can't be blamed on Republicans, since none of them were involved in its creation, and none of them voted for it. If left as-is, everybody would be good and pissed off by election time, so Obama usurped congressional authority (once again) to do an end-run around it.

However -

I feel its entirely short-sighted. Employers aren't going to delay the changes they are making to comply, meaning people are going to get their hours cut, and part of their paycheck disappeared for nothing.

..And people will be extra pissed-off come 2016.

Bill & Hill must be super happy with The One tonight. Wouldn't surprise me to learn that Obama might wake up to find a whore's horse's head in his bed..

( Actually, I was probably right the first time, since its Bubba we're talkin' bout. )

This theme of not being able to see 2 minutes ahead in life is something liberals do on every issue, so why should this be different. If they had gotten single payer, they'd be going "What do you mean that since the gov't is paying they'll have access to all my medical records and conversations with my doctor?" There's no thought behind their blank stares, it's just what sounds good at the moment and let's roll with it.

There is a reason why we consider you drooling infants stupid.  We do not make these decisions hastily nor haphazardly.

You. Are. Stupid.

Embrace it.

It is cognizantly impossible for you boobs to see past your overweening emotional states.  You accept lies as truth and refuse to accept reality.  You consider all of those who disagree with you as fascist, yet.......you cheer, and gleefully employ, fascistic tactics to assuage your adolescent emotional impulses without thought.  You want to help the poor, but are shocked when your constant finger painting hammers the poor most.

This is what happens when children are in charge.  Now, move out of the goddammed way and let the adults fix this mess.

Its how it always is, and how it always will be with them.

I always find it amazing how the self-proclaimed mostest smartest bestest peeps in the known galaxy base all of their major decisions on emotion and not intelligence. And it bites them on their collective asses every time. If any of them bothered to read the bill - and if their media cheerleaders bothered to report the bill - nobody would be surprised today by what is inside the bill. Instead they all gave each other high fives and slapped each others asses over how wonderful the bill is on the surface, without bothering to use any of that self-proclaimed intellect to actually determine what the bill and its likely effects will be.

Dumbasses.

All smart business people look out at a five-year horizon for their strategic plans.  Delaying this piece for a year doesn't make it go away.  The 29 hour weeks, full layoffs, and hiring avoidance will continue.

OMG, it looks like RSmith got something right for once in his life.   :panic:

Carl, you're right.  The morons think it's automatic and free.  Just look at EC's co-workers, who continue to believe this.  I think it's willfull ignorance and wishful thinking.

Many do get that it is insurance and not a direct payment from the government but it seems they are thinking the government is buying it for them and then they get free healthcare with insurance paying the bill.
They have no clue what the basic bronze plan will cost them out of pocket.

It is clear the delay in the employer mandate is to get past the 2014 elections as it is a jobs killer.
The problem is with no delay in the individual mandate companies can simply end insurance without the tax and now it is up to the person to get it.
They have created a catch 22 for themselves.

IIRC, there was the first (& only) term congressman from NOLA that voted for the cACA so it is an entirely owned by the repukes.

If the GOP were smart (lol) they would sue to make 0bama adhere to the law that has his name on it. This is a full on dictatorship move. Lord 0bama has done this lots of times with no consequences (recess appointments, DREAM, anyone). The executive cannot ignore legislation. This truly is an impeachable offense. The HOR coud vote it up to the senate and Let the fireworks begin as all the donks that voted for it fail to impeach. Great ad material for 2014.

On edit: Bobby Jindal just gave 0bama the pimp hand on twitter.
