New York Democratic Sen. Chuck Schumer praised the work of his Republican colleague, Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, on Thursday’s broadcast of Comedy Central’s “The Colbert Report.”

The interview with Stephen Colbert was taped before the 68-32 vote in favor of the “Gang of Eight” immigration bill, but aired at 11:30 p.m. ET on Thursday.

“He’s done a good job,” Schumer said. “He really has. And he’s taken a lot of arrows, but he believes in this, and he’s doing the right thing. I think the world of him.”

Schumer was hopeful House Speaker John Boehner will give the Senate bill an opportunity to be voted on, though Boehner has said he will not bring the bill to the House floor without a majority Republican support.

GOOD! EXCELLENT! Chuckyouschumer likes Rubio (http://dailycaller.com/2013/06/28/schumer-on-rubio-i-think-the-world-of-him-video/#ixzz2Xc6mbtIE)

Oh.  Joy.

I'm just glad I don't live where I'd feel morally obligated to go to the polls and vote either for him or his Dummiecrat opponent.

Hopefully he will get knocked out during the 2016 primary whether it's for reelection to the senate or for president.

His once good reputation among some Republicans is in the trash heap now.

Well he is a good Repuke, when push comes to shove he adopts the Democrat position.

I need to stop calling him a RINO, he is in fact what the republican party has become. The truth is, the republican party is the RINO party.

Rumor has it that Col. Allen West is thinking of challenging Rubio in a primary.

Now THAT would be interesting. West is backstage these days, but definitely has his irons in the fire.

Something tells me, however, that Allen West, LTC, Retired, is simply too conservative for Floriduh.  :shucks:

Rubio has his seat until 2016, but having somebody like Col. West looking over his right shoulder might be good for the country.
