Long-term Democratic U.S. Rep. Edward Markey beat out Republican newcomer Gabriel Gomez Tuesday in Massachusetts’ special election for John Kerry’s U.S. Senate seat.
Markey’s win helps keep a Democratic majority in the U.S. Senate. Currently, Democrats have a 54-46 majority over their Republican counterparts in the Senate.
A win by Gomez – who was considered an underdog in the race – could have helped the GOP regain control of the Senate during next year’s midterm elections. Despite lofty aspirations by Republicans, a Gomez win was always considered a long-shot.

 The status quo continues in Massachusetts.

Gomez is a RINO who believes in man made glowbull warming. Better off he didn't win IMO.

It's Massachusetts - Yawn. I heard tonight that they only have 11% registered Republicans.

Had Gomez won, we wouldn't have known the difference. Mass is lost. Sanity is not found there anymore.

I'm wondering if that is what you said after not voting for Romney. How'd that work out for this country?

Well, speaking as someone who DID in fact vote for Romney, and had to hold his nose to do so, it wouldn't have made much difference.
The GOP and Democrats are both big-government statists. NEITHER has the interest of the citizens at heart. BOTH are ****ing this country nine ways from Sunday. Romney was Obama-lite. And anyone who has followed politics will tell you, if you put a RINO up against a Democrat/liberal, the Democrat will win. At least the liberal is honest about who/what they are. If you put a CONSERVATIVE up against a liberal, the conservative will win.
Just about time to scrap it and start over.

Gabriel Gomez win would be no different from Edward Markey.
