A dangerous precedent.

Don't worry the form that you sign swearing you are a citizen is foolproof no one would dare lie.
Pisses me off I had to go through hell just to get a freaking driver license but for people to vote all you need is a signature.
-
I saw some tweets earlier stating this was about voter registration (not actual voter ID at polls). I'm not sure at all clear on this, but wanted to add that bit of info.

Yeah it's about asking for proof before one can register to vote.

I moved over a year ago and have yet to change the address on my driver's license due to all the new hoops I have to jump through to prove I'm not going to fly a plan into a building. I have had a drivers license for nearly 35 years in the state of Florida but they want me to bring in my birth certificate, a social security card, credit card statement and some other junk. This is just for an address change. To heck with that. I'll just wait until my license expires in 2018.
I have to do all that to legally drive but proving who I am so I can vote isn't considered as important.

GA started those requirement last July. They will only accept certain mail for proof of address...and they require TWO.

And tradition......
There is a guy in Philadelphia who went to jail for voter fraud a number of years ago.
They "reformed" elections laws, so when he was interviewed after being released he said; "every thing I went to jail for is now legal". :argh:

I don't know, I actually agree with this decision and this article lays out the case for it:
http://pjmedia.com/jchristianadams/2013/06/17/left-loses-big-in-arizona-supreme-court-case/?singlepage=true
all it said to me is about what Gore v. Florida 2000 said - the federal government has jurisdiction over a federal election.

Thanks for posting that, Tess. It is a MUST read. Christian set my mind more at ease, and it appears Scalia is sly like a fox, giving the states an out against this ruling.
