I don't get this:
There is no long term hospital available for me when things get bad,At most a month.I start to get better and I am discharged too soon then I crash.I asked my therapist if there were long term options on MA and there are none. It's sad that you have to commit a crime to get long term care. How can a hospital help me in two days? I was inpatient the beginning of this month for 2 days.WTF.
Secondly some kinds of problems are not a short term fix,you can't tinker with the medication and then they are ok.
There are times I wish I could go somewhere long term , investigate the place first, go there like over a year, and get help specifically for trauma.Sometimes I don't feel safe tackling some issues on the outside.
But as it is now I'd have to commit a crime to get treatment long term.
That is not right.

1. Be careful what you wish for
Because I suspect that if you were committed to an institution of any sort the only thing you would want, would be, to be back out and free. If you are a voluntary inpatient, most places will charge your insurance $1000.00 per day. Can you afford 365 thousand dollars to keep you institutionalized? And that is what you learn in an institution is how to behave in a cage. One becomes institutionalized. Oh, well seems like we all come to a point where we just end up pacing the cage.

2. As far as I know
Hospitals generally only stabilize psych patients these days. They try to treat long-term issues on an outpatient basis. A good friend of mine attended a day program for about a year after a hospitalization, and it did her quite a lot of good. Do you know whether those sorts of resources exist in your area?

4. Yes, day treatment programs can be excellent
One attends every single day for a period of time.

Rob a bank dressed as catwoman and turn yourself in, you will get 3 hots and a cot for many years to come, plus all the medical treatment you could ever want.
