Governed versus ruled.

If we live in a democracy, then we have a say in what happens. It is not acceptable that our government decides what is best for us, behind our backs.

I would personally rather take the risk of being blown up by a terrorist than live my life knowing someone is watching my communications. However, under certain circumstances, where I feel it is justified, I may allow someone to listen in to my private life. That is my decision, not theirs.

It's a fine line between these two scenarios. One is democratic, and the other is not.

First of all we do NOT live in a democracy, so many low information people have been taught that in the democrat run schools, we are a democratic republic. And yes there is a difference.

Secondly you have no choice when it comes to someone listening in on your phone calls, if the state decides they need to monitor you, they will do so and they sure as hell will NOT ask your opinion.

1. They lied to us about WMD's and they want us to trust them? LOL

They lied to us about 0bamacare, Benghazi, the IRS scandal, and on and on and yet I see post after post of how you fools trust 0bama.
The fact that he claims that no one is listening in on our phone calls does not make me feel any better. When a known liar swears the government is not doing something I do not believe them.

Believing the gov't should decide what is best for you is the foundation of modern-day liberalism. The cornerstone of your very existance. The ying in your yang. Who are you trying to kid? You act like people aren't aware of what libs have been promoting for years. Cut it out, it's just embarrassing.

Liberal regressives prefer to be ruled.
It gives structure and meaning to their own lives.
Conservatives would prefer being governed because it gives structure and meaning to society as a whole.
Democratics look after themselves, only. Always, themselves.

Who are you bullshittin'?  All they have to say is FrEEsHiT!!!111!!!1 and you defectives are fellating each other with unbridled exstacy.

Well,....more unbridled than normal daily operations.....

A government that has the power to "give freely"  has the power to take freely.  Enjoy your premium increases and tax fines for........nothing.  You see, they have provided nothing yet, will take from you freely.

Your only hope is us repealing that abortion and saving you from yourselves.

Liberal regressives prefer to be ruled.

I don't know why they even pretend otherwise.

They try.  Those inevitable unintended consequences get them every time.

DUmmie has an answer for that. A wrong answer but representative of what happens when you let Howard Zinn write your history books.

7. Actually, we are a democracy.

This is a common error of the uninformed: to say we are a republic, or a democratic republic. That was true up until Jefferson took the Office of the President; since Jefferson, we have been a democracy.

We vote for Senators and Representatives in the House; for our governors, state legislators, county-city-town officials. The single office where direct vote is not the #1 decider is, of course, that of the presidency. Yet this is the minority of offices.

We are, by ever definition, a democracy. Those who dispute that are ignorant of our history, and of current events.
To sum it up... :blah: :lalala:  :mental:

Saying "democratic republic" confuses the simpleminded, which is everyone on the island except for the moles. Using the term "representative republic"  places it in a light where they can't try and blur terms.

Listen up, primitives.  This...

Quote from:

... describes a representative republic (it can also be called a democratic republic or a representative democracy).  We vote for some officials directly and some indirectly (through the electoral college). But we are still voting for representatives who then vote on matters on our behalf.  That's a representative republic ('republic' meaning affairs of state are a public matter).  In a democracy, any bill that came before our city/county/state/federal gov't would mean the whole nation got to cast a vote.

It's a shame these things have to be explained to libs.
