Title: Savannah ghost tour on Friday the 13th
Post by: guest on June 13, 2008, 11:27:16 PM
That's where I've been this evening, with my family on this Friday the 13th.   :-)   My mom, grandparents and a cousin are here right now.

I thought I was going to be celebrating my birthday alone,  but that changed a few days ago.

My birthday basically started tonight, with a light dinner and then off to the historic district for the tour, which was by trolley.

It was equal parts history, ghost stories,  and a comedy routine.    There were some fantastic stories, and I got to see some of what was on the Savannah episode of Ghost Hunters, except for the Sorrel Weed House.   :bawl:    I did see the US Post Office/Court House building that's situated over a large cemetery, plus the cemetery where Jason and Grant wreaked havoc on the other investigators during that episode.  :evillaugh:

Very Southern and outspoken conservative lady, our tour guide was.    She also made amusing remarks about the pedestrians, and started wolf-whistling at this couple that was making out in front of a church.

The most amusing part was when we passed by a vehicle from the Hearse Tours, right next to a particular cemetery.     Our tour guide just had to yell out "How's your test drive going?"  :lmao:

There's a pic there for you to see what we saw.  It's crazy how they turned that hearse into some kind of mini-trolley.  I may have to try that tour out sometime (maybe on Halloween).

No ghost sightings, but the history of this area was enough to keep me happy.    I'll be busy up until Sunday afternoon, so I won't be around much.  I figured I'd at least try to share some of what's going on, though.

COOL!

I would do that hearse tour in a minute! I mean really, the only time you ride in one is when you're dead and can't enjoy it. :-)

Exactly.

Hey, if I can get 7 more CC'ers down here in Savannah for Halloween, I'd gladly book that hearse (it appears to seat 8).

Lord, that does not sound right.   :lmao:
