They want the state to slide towards bankrupcy, don't they? Found on Drudge.
150 People Arrested In NAACP Protest Against NC Republicans
June 3, 2013 11:59 PM
RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — More than 100 people were arrested Monday at the largest demonstration yet of the North Carolina NAACP’s weeks-long protest of the conservative policies of the Republican-led General Assembly.
Police estimated that roughly 1,000 people attended a rally late Monday afternoon behind the Legislative Building on Halifax Mall. Hundreds then entered the building. Upwards of 150 people were arrested outside the doors to the state Senate chambers, where demonstrators chanted, sang and delivered speeches decrying what they called a regressive agenda that neglects the poor.
Activist groups estimated the crowd at about 1,600.
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People has been holding weekly protests in Raleigh since mid-April, and what started with 17 arrests and tens of supporters back then has grown every week, bringing the total number of arrests to nearly 300 after five weeks of protests.
Groups ranging from abortion-rights supporters to environmentalists and public educators have joined the rallies, which have attracted people from Greensboro to Rocky Mount.
All the 'gimme-gimme-gimme' groups, essentially.

Another special-interest group determined to keep their nose at the government trough as long as possible.

This is just the latest round of protests. The NAACP is calling them "Moral Mondays", as if it's their moral right to take from others and committ vote fraud. Yes, one of their issues is the voter ID bill currently working it's way through the legislature. Apparently, they don't know that Voter ID has been found to not be an unreasonable burden on voting, therefore Constitutional, in other states.
It's really the last gasp tantrum from those who know this state is about to stay red for a while. Jobs are coming back to NC under a Republican legislature and Republican Governor, and the people like that.

Can we sue the NAACP to force them to change their name? Colored people sounds so racist and hateful. OTOH, maybe I'll just start using that term to refer to blacks. :fuelfire:

In Progressive minds, this is a consensus.

Taking away people's free stuff makes them mad. The moocher society at its finest.

Were Jesse Crookjackson Sr. and Al Notsosharp in attendance?

I have been following this since they started these "Moral Mondays" and I find it ridiculous! One of the things they are now protesting is the Back to Basics law for schools. This law will require elementary school children to learn both cursive writing and their multiplication tables. Seems like a pretty good idea to me...but somehow, according to the NAACP, it is a racist law!

"If Johnny has three apples, and Susie has four apples..."
"Dammit, that's racist! Brothers got no apples! The Man is keepin' Brothers down! The Man needs to be givin' the Brothers some damn apples!"

Darn I just can't keep these names straight. At around 45 years ago I came home all excited to tell Mom we had a new student that was Black. We had seldom if ever seen anyone who was not white.
We checked out this unfortunate student stem to stern. What's with the hair, how come his palms were white, This kid had the most beautiful skin color, darn we girls could lay in the sun 365 days for 2 years and never get that kind of tan. In the winter months we all turned fish belly white and he kept that healthy brown and never seemed to get those awful bright red zits that the boys and girls got at that age.
Mom jumped up my skinny little butt to inform me that I was never to refer to the boy as black, he was of color. That term Black was raciest and not to be used.
Wish people would make up their minds on what they wish to be called.

Make you wonder, what demographic do they assume won't do well? :devious:

You got to be kidding me, kids do not learn the multiplication tables as it is raciest ????
WTF, I remember in what 3rd grade my Dad questing me on them and I had a very hard time with Math. Sitting at the kitchen table being forced to remember the tables, tears running down my chubby cheeks as my brain just did not work that way. I just could not remember this stuff and I became very angry and upset. Cry, yell and scream at my Dad, this was outside my ability to understand.
40 years later I had to work with numbers, grams and ounces and kilos, had to calculate the load per pallet of finished product. The youngsters carried calculator's and I was most times able to work this out in my head faster then they could punch in the numbers. They thought I was a math genius for the love of Bacon.
Nope I still have a problem with Math but because my father tortured me as a little kid to memorise my times tables, I do wish he had been around when I took algebra.
So Dad was a raciest and child abuser to make me learn Multiplication tables-----so be it, thank the Lord he had the staying power to insist his daughter learn something and not cave in to my tears or tantrums. My kids had no problem with Math so they picked it up fast, I did not have to become raciest for them to learn.
