What song do you want at your funeral? I want Dennis Wilson's "Farewell My Friend"

An alcoholic drug addict should always keep his funeral plans up to date.

You would think he would want a litany of jingles from alcoholic beverage commercials.
would have fit his life a bit more.

By now his liver has to be the size of a watermelon. I wonder if they will get the casket to close?

He may have to get a casket from "Teddy's Fat and Drunk".
If they can fit him, they can fit anyone.

I want Super Freak by Rick James. :-)
-
I want This Old House as played by the Brian Setzer Orchestra.

This one practically writes itself!

Tavs should be "Sam Stone" (with a change of some of the syrics that don't apply to him).
"There's a hole in daddy's arm where all the money goes..."
.

H5 duly awarded.

Hey Tav, how about Red Hot Chili Peppers, "Under the Bridge" for your service?
I mean it deals with heroin addiction and all, so it's right up your alley.

Maybe Fat man in a bathtub singing the blues? Little Feat.

This is the song that should be played at each and every DUmbasses funeral:

I want the theme to "Speed Racer" in the original Japanese:
Speed Racer in Japanese (http://www.televisiontunes.com//themesongs/Speed%20Racer%20-%20Japanese.mp3)
Translated lyrics (note: "5" is pronounced "Go" in Japanese -- they get a 2-fer):
Mach 5!, 5!, 5!
The wind and the shaking hair pin curve
are they terrifying things?, go!, go!, go!
White body, Mach 5
Indomitable spirit, the pride of his father
If it starts running, it won't be stopped anymore
Go!, till the triumph goal
Mach 5!, 5!
Mach 5!, 5!
Mach 5!, 5!, 5!
Step on to the accelerator till the end of the earth
It is a young life, go!, go!, go!
Number 5, Mach 5
Everyone please take a look at his stored energy
An enormous energy burns inside his chest
Make it fly over the justice highway
Mach 5!, 5!
Mach 5!, 5!
Mach 5!, 5!, 5!

The most fitting song for a DUmmy is one that everybody is annoyed by. DUmmies are like broken records spouting talking points they heard from official sources. we should honor this constant fact of their lives by playing songs that we all hate...like Achy Breaky Heart...something that will make their families cringe like they always did when their DUmmy walked in for Thanksgiving.

There you go again.
As DUmmy Taverner has pointed out before, when it comes to heroin people always want to focus on the negatives.

Personally, I feel bad for Tavvy . I got to know him during my moling duty. He is a troubled soul.
:argh:

For mine I'd like these songs.

Why does it matter what music is played at the Drunken DUchebag's funeral after he inevitably ODs and dies in a pool of his own bodily fluids? It's not like anybody would mourn him enough to come to his funeral.
Then again, some might have the position of the Christmas Future businessman from "A Christmas Carol": 'I might go, if lunch is provided.'

I like the idea of collecting the songs that my children and I sang as we drove down the road when they went from tots to adult.
When I pass I want my children to connect to the past and their childhood with me and Music is a great way to do so. This will be their memories of a fun time when I was young and had not lost to age the slowing down in energy and spirit.
Final song to be played will be--- Cats in the Cradle----
-
Amazing Grace of course. O-)

Gina, I think that the OP is to provide a funeral song for Tav, not you. :whistling:
-
Taverner, this one's for you:

From the chorus:
Hang myself when I get enough rope
Note to Taverner: Ace Hardware has rope on sale this week.

I know but everyone could use a dose of Amazing Grace mentality.

I hope Kregel's funeral planning is like Queequeg building his coffin, but I'm afraid his brain is too shriveled by heroin to be capable of prescience.
-
Surely something by Alice in Chains/Layne Staley would fit. He died of an overdose, and nobody found him for 2 weeks because nobody could stand to be anywhere around him.

Mightn't that ruin those songs for them forever. Instead of connecting with those joyful times, they would connect with your passing.
Already "Cats in the Cradle" is ruined for me because I associate it with your passing. And that hasn't even happened yet!
Just a thought.

Oh I adore that song, it reminds me how little time we have with our children and then they are gone to raise their own kids.
Not at all depressing for me it's just a reminder to PICK up the phone and call my kids where ever they are just to say I love them.

That song sucked decades before anyone here ever heard of the addled vestanumbers.
