Title: poll: is the DUmpster affecting Skins's island
Post by: franksolich on May 31, 2013, 01:47:17 PM
As many here might, or might not, have figured out, it seems traffic on Skins's island is on a downward slope, although it's difficult to determine by how much.

And of course one notices the slippage with PoP (primitives of prominence) leaving, never to be heard from again, and with the decrease in the quality of material the remaining primitives have been giving us.

Right now's not a good time to be a primitive, an 0bamaite, a Democrat, or a liberal, and I imagine that's the greatest factor involved here, with this erosion.  Just a general apathy and lethargy because things aren't going their way.

But I wonder.  I doubt it, but does one suppose the DUmpster's affecting Skins's island, too, causing so many primitives to either run away and hide, or inhibit them in mouthing their inanities?

There are a lot of splinter sites as well as other social media that I'm sure DUmmies and "POP's" have run off to.  You're right, it does seem slower at the DUmp lately.  Can't explain why, but I have been running across a number of people posting there who make veiled and not-so-veiled references to the Cave.  Which is why I voted as I did...

"... inhibit them in mouthing their inanities."

Unfortunately, that has been the case since they noticed we were watching in 2004.  Not as much at first, but since it's become widely known, they've definately backed off saying things in public that they used to say.  On occasion one slips up and the other primitives have to tell them to pipe down, and when we catch them in the act it's fun because we at least know they're being honest, but mostly they stay on guard.

I voted "Don't Know". You'd have to track the deserters, and ask them why they left.

I suspect that many were greatly embarrassed over the turn Obama took since the re-election. Either that, or they are taking some time off to re-calibrate their souls, maybe to even contemplate Hara-Kiri.

Possibly the 19,391 members of CC and CU proved to be just too overwhelmingly superior to the mere 204,643 DUers. After all, their 10.5:1 advantage was hardly fair to them.

Good one, dude, sir.

Awesome.

I voted "Don't Know" because there are so many factors involved. The DUmpster is one factor as people can search it on Google. Also, with Barack Obama in the White House, they are less united and more fragmented and factional. When Bush was in office, they were more united and active. It is also summer and forums tend to be less active. As Ralph says, there are many sites full of moonbats like DU.

I notice that CC is less active lately since April. The DUmpster seems more quiet as of late as well as it is the most active part of the forum.

Oh now, Ptarmigan dude, quit your belly-aching.

It's 2013.  It's an off-year.

If you look at 2011 and 2009 here, you'd see the same thng.

I said "yes, a little bit," because they do mention us.  The primitives do tell the more 'unrestrained' to back off a bit, but you know damn well that they're thinking that stuff.

For groups to unify, they need a common enemy. W was the rallying point for the DUmmies. The DUmmies then spent four years paying obeisance on bended knee before discovering that Obama was not exactly the pretty gift promised by the packaging. Obama's second term radical leftward lurch is now fragmenting the Left...and scandals don't help.

I think that, sooner or later, DU will be down to Skinner, Nads, a few die-hard socialists/communists, and moles to be left to inhabit the island. Meanwhile, Elm Tree might see an increase in leaves.

Thank God nads is so self-important that she bloviates with regularity.  I know she hopes her posts will make there way here, but she doesn't understand that being laughed AT is not a good thing in ANY circumstance.

So, we're sort of the USAF F86 of boards and posters, and they're more like the PLA MiG-15s.

I dont think so as the way suggested by the original post.

I think the decline in traffic is because of Obama's presidency. He actually does half the things that the left used to accuse Bush of, and the primitives don't know how to respond to it.

So they are wandering off to places where they can criticize 'Right Wing' (SNARF !) Obama without fear of removal.

Once they lose the Office Of The Presidency, they will be united in anger again, and they'll be back in force at DU.

Many forums I have seen are overrun with moonbats. Newsgroups are bad too.

I suspect the lessening of traffic is due to having a dem in the White House. Nothing gets the nuts stirred up more than having a repub in the White House. GW Bush was so hated by the nuts they just simply could not hold it in and they went looking for folks just as nutty as themselves to bloviate to.
