We Used To Go Out To Dinner, Buy Things, Support The Economy
Last edited Thu May 30, 2013, 07:04 PM USA/ET - Edit history (1)
But then gas prices went crazy. And it just keeps getting worse--> gas just jumped to $4.08 a gallon.
We don't go out to eat because our gas budget has doubled in the past couple of years but our wages haven't.
We don't buy much stuff these days. I just bought my work shoes for next school year off of ebay. Yes, a teacher with a master's degree has to buy his shoes used off ebay. My shoes for this year came from Goodwill. So did last year's. I did buy ONE new shirt this year at a fundraiser. I'd buy more new clothes, but, did I mention, that our gas budget takes up most of our spending money?
We used to support the economy but now...well, we support garage sales and Goodwill. My school district has laid off over 200 people this year but the school budgets for gas have doubled since Bush was President. How many schools, states, companies, have had to lay off people to pay for the rises in gas prices?
Why has gas jumped so much in the past couple of months? Greed. Politicians who won't stand up against big oil. A government that might as well hang a Shell Oil Sign in front of the Capitol Building while they turn a blind eye to price fixing.
Is there anyone in Washington still fighting for the people? Will Elizabeth Warren or Jeff Merkley stand up? Anyone?
There is no such thing as a stable economy until Big Oil is brought to heel. The minute things get better they raise their prices. If they see a surplus they raise their prices. If they think American Children can skip one more meal a week, they'll raise their prices. They are bleeding the country of every penny they possibly can. You're even paying them interest on the gas that you already bought.
There are plenty of enemies of the middle class. Big Oil just might be the worst of them
cry about it to your precious Obama, bitch
-
6 years ago it was all about the 'secret' energy meetings and Bush being pals with the oil companies.
In 2008 Obummer, and Pelosi 'promised' to look into the oil company profits.
What happened?

I don't know which is worse.
The fact that this DUmbass is a teacher,
the fact that this DUmbass has absolutely NO F'N IDEA how the real world works, or
the fact that this DUmbass is a teacher AND has absolutely NO F'N IDEA how the real world works.
The really, really sad part is that this DUmbass is a teacher.
We are SOOOOOOO FUC*ED! :hammer:

DUmbass teacher must have misunderstood "master's" for "masturbater's" :lmao:

Proof positive that advanced degrees in the hands of moonbats still means they are so unintelligent they have to mooch off others in order to stay alive. The only subject this primitive is qualified to teach is Whining & Moaning 101.

WTF do you drive that your gas budget prevents you from purchasing clothes?
We have two gas guzzling V-8 cars and we can still manage to buy clothes.
-
Before blaming "Big Oil" he should take a look at all the taxes levied on gas by federal and state governments. These taxes are paid at all stages of the extraction, importing, refining, distribution and selling processes. If there are way to many hands in the cookie jar.
-
Guess what DUmbass...lib states with high sales taxes love high gas prices because that is always a add on percentage of the final price, excise taxes included.
The higher the base price the more a state/local government collects without doing a thing.
-
Well if the DUchebag lives in kalifornia gas will be going up 3 cents because of a tax hike to keep PEU retirees living at 105% of their last salary and Cadillac health plans with COLAs. Sweeeeeeeeeeeet. It's going to be a glorious future komrades, GLORIOUS!!!!!
-
I think it's funny they expect people to listen to them as if they have anything important to say when they can barely sustain their own lives.
Look primitives, don't approach me with this notion that you know best when all I read is how you're too stupid to know how to make enough money to live. Those who don't want the oil companies to drill or for any new refineries to be built have no reason to complain about the price of gas, the cost of items, or the lack of income increasing. Just shut up and enjoy the poverty you created for yourself.

Under the plan of the dirty crook Obama, energy prices will necessarily skyrocket, but thrift store shoe prices are expected to remain low. Yay.

The US Government and the States make more money per gallon of gas then the oil companies make, the oil companies make about 8 cents per gallon, if you want to bitch? do so to the Government.
BTW, I so wish a gas station would put a big sign out letting people know the breakdown per gallon of gas, let the people know how much the Government, State, Oil Company and Station Owner get per gallon.

Well if thrift store shoe prices do go up I think we all know who will not be responsible and focusing like a laser beam on keeping thrift store shoe prices fair.

Ever since some MORON in the White House signed The Commodity Futures Modernization Act of 2000 allowing Wall Street and the investment banks to speculate in oil, the forces of supply and demand have been nullified.
It was a parting gift from the same clown who signed the Financial Services Modernization Act of 1999 which repealed 1933 Glass–Steagall Act. that had kept investment houses and commercial banking separate and led to the 2008 financial collapse.
But he's apologized since and expects his long suffering wife to take over where he left off, well once the guy who should have been serving them coffee leaves office.

I pay $4.12 every time I fill up DUmmie. Stop your bitching.
If I pay on the economy it's 1.59 Euro per litre.

I don't know what the DUche is complaining about. Gas prices have been steadily declining here. On a side note, what's the exchange rate now for the Euro? The last time I was in Germany it was $6.50-$7.00 per gallon on the economy without the esso coupons.
-
Gas isn't great but you fools and your energy policies have a lot to do with that. Now onto an expenses that is really starting to cripple the working class people I know: health insurance premiums also brought to you by dummie policies as well so if you are hurting mr projection take a good long look on the mirror at who is breaking his own back.
-
teacher with a masters degree buys shoes at Goodwill? Um sorry I call :bs: either you are bouncing or you don't know how to handle your finances.

DUmmy don redbelly doesn't buy those shoes for wearin'. He buys them for sniffin'!

As of today $1 buys .75 Euro. And that's about where it's been for the last couple months.
And you're correct on what it translates to per gallon on the economy.

Disastrous ethanol mandates that puts corn in the gas tank instead of on the table is not helping either.

Me too; I've always been for that.
And not only for gasoline, but also prices for tobacco products and alcohol should list how much part of the price is for taxes.

Yep! same thing for taxes, if the Government would stop the bi-weekly withholding and people had to write a check every April? they'd be furious.
-
Current fees/taxes in Californicate are approx. 65 cents. This includes federal tax, which is 18 cents. (Per gallon, of course.)

The chart is interesting, because the final price, is $4.05/gal.

Add on one more thing DUmmies, the Feds make take more than "Big Oil" makes, profit wise.

I have no sympathy dummie. None at all. I hope you starve. We told you and told you about obumbles and you laughed at us, called us uneducated morons clinging to guns and God, and in general ridiculed us as extreme.
You were amply warned dumbass. You chose to ignore it.
So dummie... just remember that it was you and your ilk that wanted it, you worked for it, you were successful and now you:
:ownit:
I sincerely hope you live the rest of your days in poverty.

Eliminate withholding and change Tax Day from April 15th to "the first Monday in November" would do wonders for the future political content of Washington, DC.

As a general rule, whatever the media reports as "oil company profits", multiply it by 2.5 to get what "governmental taxes" were levied on those "oil company profits", then add the 2 together to get the "total buttf***ing" the consumer took when he filled up.

I'm not sure that would work now DD. Way too many people get more from the IRS than they ever paid thanks to EIC and the like.
Pisses me off. :banghead: :banghead:
I am a big fan of the Fair Tax. Makes the parasitic welfare scum pay their fair share. That's why the dems communists don't like it.
