O.K. I’ll say it.. What’s with the American Flags all over the destruction areas?
I certainly didn’t see flags all over the Federal Building when it was destroyed by Terrorists in 1995.
These American flags just don’t make sense to me..
Does this tragedy have a connection to Nationalism? Are all future disasters in this country going to be conflated with 911.
Somebody please explain...

3. Many people feel our national heritage is one of resiliency and overcoming things
And symbols of our country come to symbolize that as well.

32. It would be nice, but I don’t believe that this was the purpose.
I think that behind every flag which was raised there was a voice against our govt. It might not be conscious but the tea baggers and republicans have hijacked the American flag. The Terms Liberty
Freedom and Founding Fathers have also been hijacked..

Proglodyte Lexicon
Liberty -- to be unfettered by personal responsibility or employment
Freedom -- the ability to compel others to supply your every worldly need and recreation
Founding Fathers -- an endorsement of gay adoption
And damn the soul that says it's otherwise.

It is good that planes can fly from Boston to LA so these cretins do not have to venture into the heart of the beast.

No, those are not staged. You would get in all kinds of trouble for doing that.
You'd be amazed how things end up and survive...
I will leave it at that.
Okay, I'll explain.
You're sub-human filth incapable of common decency or affection and you should die in a fire...slowly.
Is that clear enough?

Wait until the DUmmies see the flying flags when Obama is GONE!(http://www.teamm14.com/images/smilies/flag1b.png)
More of the usual treason from the DUmmies. Even when one of their own is in office, they still hate America. Still, at least he didn't stoop low enough to refer to it as "Jingoism."

89. "it's the American way"
kept hearing that yesterday, that helping dig neighbors out of rubble and rebuilding is supposedly uniquely "American".
Tell that to the Japanese, or in Bangledesh, or India. They seem to respond to disasters without the jingoism.

Because it is a different part of the country, with a different mind set than that of dummie land. Out here in fly over country, saying the pledge is OK, saying a prayer before an event is OK. Putting signs out on the highway proclaiming that abortion is bad is OK. The second amendment is OK and thought of as a good thing.
It is good that planes can fly from Boston to LA so these cretins do not have to venture into the heart of the beast.
I love the American Flag, on our block almost everyone flies the flag everyday.
Same here. One of the houses down the street from us recently put a huge flag up. Now we need to go get a big one too. Right now, I just have American flag ribbon type things hanging on our trees since we don't have one of those attachment things to hang a flag off our house.

There's two dynamics at play here. First is the DUmmies' natural inclination to develop a raging crotch rash at the sight of anyone overtly displaying patriotism or expressing a sense of American spirit and resilience.
The second is, Oklahoma being a red state, they wanted to see their peoples' morale crushed and a groveling admission that they needed the federal government to take their hand and reassure them as if they were frightened children. They want to see crying people sobbing, "Where is FEMA? Why isn't anyone from the government helping us?", so they could dance on their misery and snark loud and long about how the "tea baggers" are suddenly crying out for Uncle Sam.
Flying the flag as a way to say, "We're still here, and our spirit is not broken!" galls them to no end.

Our wind is tough on flags. Even the hardware has became unsecured. I keep putting them up!
Our town has a few huge and very tall flags in a couple hotel/casino parking lots that can be seen for miles. It's pretty awesome.
