A Miami man caught and killed the longest Burmese python ever captured in the state of Florida, according to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Jason Leon was driving late at night on May 11 in a rural area of southeast Miami-Dade County when he saw about 3 feet of a snake sticking out of the bushes. Having owned and handled Burmese pythons in the past, according to FWC, Leon pulled an 18-foot, 8-inch female from the roadside. The snake wrapped itself around Leon’s leg, and he called for assistance.
He used a knife to kill the snake.

In the past week, I've had a 2 & 1/2' coral snake in the garage and I almost stepped on a 5' rattler. That's big enough for me.

I think I'd avoid the garage until winter. :killemall:
The only thing around here are frogs and rabbits.

I had to kill a garter snake this evening. Normally, I'd let them go but this was in our dog's play area and she was playing with it. Didn't want her bitten by it.

Oooooh that would be bad. I need to pack a bigger knife if I go back to Florida! That's too much snake to be roaming around!
I'd rather deal with our crabby, little rattle snakes. Killed one last week. It was right outside a garage door and there are pets and children around.
