Folks all over the nation go out, and use their hard earned money to buy a lottery ticket, two, three, what have you; hoping they'll strike it big. Hoping their life can be a hell of a lot easier with the money they EARNED by buying a lotto tickit, correct?
Gravitycollapse doesn't think so...

You don't deserve 600,000,000 dollars.
Neither do I.
You shouldn't gain your fiscal success through pure chance. This is essentially no different from the sons and daughters of the hyper-wealthy who inherit vast fortunes.
The lottery is a one of the most highly organized celebrations of unequal wealth redistribution I have ever seen. I thought you butt-holes were extremely FOR wealth redistribution? Y'know, all that "eat the rich" garbage you people spew at the protest rallies? Make up for mind.Take from the many and give to the few.
The lottery is a really disgusting and pathetic manifestation of nearly everything that is wrong with our modern capitalist society. They hang the false narrative of the "American dream" in front of us like a carrot, and off we run, hoping to catch a bite. Some lucky human being in Florida caught that very bite, dip stick.
Buying a lotto ticket is not just an insanely unwise waste of money, it represents one's complicity in the very system that perpetuates the continued gulf between the haves and have-nots. Capitalist, Conservative pig, and proud of it, A-hole!
The next time you consider buying a lotto ticket, take that dollar and give it to a local charity. You are statistically no further away from being a millionaire and you're helping those in need.
Just my 2 cents.

Shows how much you actually know about what you're talking about. The Powerball is $2 a ticket, idiot.
And even though I got nada from spending that $2 bucks, I had a little fun, and put the little bit of money I spent BACK into the economy. YOUR 2 cents was just bullshit that helps nobody. Have a good damn fracking life. Good BYE!

They won by luck. Besides most of it is taxed. :mental:

4. Lighten up, Francis
I wasn't being serious.
As I don't recall having done anything to deserve $600,000,000, I agree. I don't deserve it. But there's one other thing I don't deserve, and that's the right to decide how much people deserve or don't deserve.
DFW needs to get back to the socialist agenda!

10. So we don't have the right to say that people deserve medical care? Or shelter? Or food?

14. You were on about money, not medical care, shelter or food
How much money DOES one deserve? $50,000? $500,000? $5,000,000? And who appoints themselves confiscators-in-chief when a limit, decided by them, has been reached? And who confiscates from the confiscators when they have confiscated more than they "deserve" to administrate?
Medical care, shelter and food are things a citizen of a country as affluent as ours should expect. What one should NOT expect is some moral police saying "you have enough money. You may not earn any more." I think of people like Bill Cosby, George Soros or Oprah and say no one has the right to tell them they don't deserve what they earned.
We already have a confiscator in chief, his name is President Obama.

DUmmie said..."Medical care, shelter and food are things a citizen of a country as affluent as ours should expect".....and I agree. You should expect to have everything you can have that you have worked for and paid for.

89. why do some people get such a kick
Out of telling others what to think, what to want, how to spend their money, etc.? Some folks seem to thrive on being dour, joy-killing buttinskis.
Democrats, one and all.
Look how childish:

91. I do too because I'll buy Fox news and fire the whole ****ing crew
And hire people who will do nothing but kiss Obama's ass.
You will never have more than two dimes to rub together. :loser:

That DUmpmonkey doesn't have a clue where the money from a lottery comes from.
I wonder if s/h/it understands it's a fractional part of all money derived from ticket sales.
Probably not.

Whoa, you mean it is due to millions of people freely entering a contract to put individually-trivial amounts of money in a pool and then award a few high-dollar jackpots from that pool?!? What are you, some kind of right-wing wack-job fanatic???
:lmao:

Nor will the person get it. After taxes the winner will be lucky to get $275 million. That should make all of you petty DUches happy. The biggest winner is the government and their associated public employee unions. Know that for every dollar spent in a lotto, the government will get about 70 cents. That's why it is called a tax on the poor and the stupid or as I call them, DUchebags.

No state income taxes in Florida, just federal. The cash option is, IIRC, about 278 billion. Someone got PAID! :-)

Exactly. This (D)oUcherocket should be ramming cylindrical objects up his rectum in unrestrained glee at the government pocketing a cool 300 mil (at least).
about 278 billion.

Really? Who owns that wealth, the government? You jackasses just can't help begging for dictatorship on a daily basis.

*ding!* *ding!* ding!*
I stll play a ticket or two. Now and again. :-)

Who owns that wealth, the government?
It's their basic assumption. All wealth is generated from government. The arguments they try to use to support that, take stupid to a whole new galaxy. See: Elizabeth Warren Syndrome.
You jackasses just can't help begging for dictatorship on a daily basis.
Yes they do.

Every one wants to win big-----Now what ?
Darn now the number of problems that crop up in even a small lottery are outstanding.
Do we really want to have to hide from family members that come a knocking on the door that you have not heard from in 10 years ?
That new mansion you buy, the up keep may cost more then the winnings in 5 years. The cost for money managers that may be robbing you blind.
Stress, stress anger just 6 months of winning may cause you to die young. SO some buy homes for family members that cannot pay the taxes on their new property. They loose the property and come back expecting you to finance a new home for them that they cannot or will not keep up the taxes on the new one.
I have given thought to this and were I unlucky enough to win a big one, I would change my name to Atsev and run for the hills or Key West. Buy a house boat with 20 year boat slip. Send the family $1,000 bucks at Xmas and join the Yacht Club. Once a year I would come home to visit take everyone out to a family renunion and a free meal then jump on a plane and go home before the leaches can set in.

The federal government owes $1,700 billion and loses 1,000 billion plus every year under the economic knucklehead 0. I don't call that affluent at all. I call that dead as bankrupt.
