I followed a few of the other links connected to the article in the left margin of the story(s) and found that this group of bikers has had some trouble in the past, and a few officers have been suspended and a couple have decided to retire after this last brawl.

It's also mentioned one bar that normally does not let bikers in that are wearing "colors" made an exception due to the group being recognized as off duty police officers, they ended up getting drunk and out of control.  :-)
