In the video, the student, identified by YouTube users and other sources as Jeff Bliss, expresses his frustration with the way the Duncanville High School teacher communicates with students.
"If you would just get up and teach them instead of handing them a freaking packet, yo," the student says in the video. "There's kids in here that don't learn like that. They need to learn face to face."

Can't go anywhere around here without hearing about this today.

It was all the rage yesterday too. I understand it has gone around the world.
Is this a great country or what?
-
Just from the clip it looked like a frustrated kid and a disinterested/uninvolved teacher but what they showed is so short you can't make any judgements.

If he had a haircut and his shirt tail tucked in, I might give it more thought.....just looks like another young bitching liberal raised by unhappy liberal parents to me......now, if only he had had a gun he could have been the next DUmmie shooting hero.

Did you look at the second video, below the first? I think that is the entire one.

Pretty crazy stuff indeed.

I just went and watched the second video. You still really can't tell what's going on though. I'm still seeing a frustrated kid and a disinterested/uninvolved teacher but we don't know if there is any history. Is the kid a problem in class often? Is he a good student? Does he perform well in other classes but under performs in this one? Does the teacher have problems with more students than other teachers? Does this teachers classes consistently under perform on standardized tests or other tests?
There are just too many variables missing to make any kind of decision on what you're seeing.
Heh, I think my school board training is coming out.

It is insane that is for sure

Even longhair white hippie freaks are pretty conservative when they come from Duncanville.

One thing I CAN tell you about this video; Administrators, teachers and students need to be careful because there are ALWAYS video cameras around you now. None are going to be able to do some of the things they are used to doing and some of it is good stuff that gets the kids involved but taken out of context could cost a good teacher a job.
Cell phones are causing all kinds of problems in schools. I did some training in Austin last September and one of the things that stuck out in my mind was the story of a teacher who was told of a girl who sent out nude pictures of herself. He asked one of the students to text it to him so he could show the administrator ... and was promptly arrested for having child pornography on his phone! He was reported to be a good teacher with no history of anything like that. After his computer (at home and work) were searched there was nothing like that found but it was still a sticky situation. They fear that some kids may send teachers child porn in the hopes of getting them arrested if they don't realize it was sent to them then they get turned in.
Who would have thought that these kids are sending each other pictures of themselves in different levels of dress only to find out THEY have broken the law by having child porn on THEIR phones! Now that is crazy.

He reminds me of Jay, as in Jay and Silent Bob.

All I gotta say about that is I am grateful I grew up when I did. :-)

I bet your not the only one who feels like that

Heh. Nasty girl. Back when you played it was "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" and no one was the wiser!
:naughty:
:-)
Sadly these kids don't realize that once the genie is let out of the bottle they can't put it back in. A girl who is IN LOVE with her high school sweet heart and sends him a risque pic on a cell phone has made a HUGE mistake.

Actually, I never did that show me stuff. But I wouldn't like having everything I do tracked somewhere. Used to be if you wrote a note in class, and didn't want that info to be shared you could burn it. (Off school property of course.) :whatever:

We used to pass notes in class; but they were in code. That way if a teacher caught us, it couldn't be read in front of the class.

Yo. ::)

Unfortunately, I am with the kid on this one. There are so (too many, acutally)many teachers like the one in the video. They are tired, worn out, it is the end of the year.
I have had teachers, who just sit back and talked at you, and then I had teachers, who were lively, and engaged the class, then there was Mrs Mulhern(she was a character).

Saw the video and read the article.
The school response was generic: nothing will change. Thank you teacher unions.

This is what someone posted on Breitbart's FB page:
This happened here where I live. The kid is a former dropout who has turned himself around and got his butt back in school. He seems like a very mild mannered and laid back kid, but he was on the news last night and said that he was trying his best to create a future for himself after realizing that he used to have no vision for his life down the road and he does now. He also said that he could see himself one day maybe becoming a teacher. His mom is one.
I think the day before the teacher said something to the effect of, "I don't care if you learn or not; this is a paycheck for me". The kid was pissed off because she didn't teach. Just handed out packets for them to read. A robot can do that. A janitor can do that. That's not teaching.
-
It is lazy teaching. I hated that when I went to night school. Math was awful. I hated just reading about how to do something in math.

That does indeed put a whole new spin on it, if true. I wouldn't pick sides based on the video but if that happened in my district I would do everything I could to see both sides of it and if what is said above was true that teacher would be unemployed pretty quickly.
