I need any verifiable links proving gun violence decreases when there is an assault weapons ban

and/or the ban on huge clips.

Yesterday, at brunch with the girls, some of them were saying that "it wouldn't matter because then the only ones who will have them is the criminal, blah, blah, blah"

Normally I am in it all 'rough and tumble style', but this will need more...tact.

If anyone has anything handy, I'd surely appreciate it.

Good job they're the smarterestest people on the internets, and don't need to keep asking for help in finding statistics...

So far only two responses - in both cases, unsurprisingly, the other DUmmies can't help either...

Yes, please use this so I could point out the bad guys just switched to another weapon, the Katana or Samurai Sword, as their weapon of choice. It got so bad that Britain has outlawed the ownership of Samurai Swords unless you're a collector. This will work until the criminals find yet another weapon of choice for their activities.

Why not? It's like the whole "per 100,000" bullshit thing Alexandra Bainsbane likes to try and use to prove that somehow NYC is sitting on top of 400+ murders but is a gun control success.

What it plainly shows is that as the availability of legally purchased arms increase, the per capita number of gun violence murder victims decrease. Too bad, primitive.
