as of the end of April, 4.4 million Americans, or 37 percent of the unemployed, had been without a job for 27 weeks or longer, barely better than March’s 39 percent.

Who needs a job as long as Obama's stash holds out.

The jobs picture looks bleak. The majority of new jobs is in the service industry. Mostly low paying, part time. On Cavuto's show they were talking about this. One guy said that we lost 2 million construction jobs and only 200k have come back. We also had zero, nada, new jobs in manufacturing. That's a really bad sign.
I'm clueless how the stock market went over 15k today.

Because Der Obamanfuhrer says it's all good.
7.5 percent...sure...and the lowest workforce participation rate since 1979...hmmmm, 1979.
I'm not sure these clowns really want to compare themselves to 1979, do they? Really?
-
Caution. Everything is going according to Das Führer's plan. I kid you not. He said he would remake America, and he's doing it!

The U-3 is worthless. If we had the same workforce participation rate as five years ago, that U-3 would be closer to 11-12 percent, not 7.5.
We're putting people on SS disability almost as often as they find "jobs", even if they're part-time shit jobs with no benefits compared to what they had several years ago.
The economy is putzing along. One of the local fishwraps was trying to spin as positive news that HALF the jobs lost in 2008 have since been gained back. Really? In previous recessions, ALL of those jobs lost would have been gained back in 18-24 months. We're on month 52, and nowhere near where we were in 2008. And this is Bush's fault HOW, exactly?
Yeah, I'll be holding my breath for those answers.

To KEEP the unemployment rate at 7.5%, 102,111 jobs/month need to be created just to keep up with population growth.
In other words, to tread water at 7.5%.
To get to 5%, 408,845 jobs / month need to be created.

Well, I'm sure the Fed's constant propping up the market along with its constant bond-buying and zero percent interest policies (ZIRP) have something to do with it.
At least so sayeth one of the more liberal rags:

Who needs a job as long as Obama's stash holds out.
Dead on. That kind of thinking is a trap, a tender trap in the same vein as so-called bilingual education (I.e., kids graduating high school utterly incapable of functioning outside a Spanish-speaking environment). It appeals to people who have a lot more compassion than sense, and can't see the long-term downside.

They keep believing his lies don't they?

DUmbass article writer says:
Finding out what works is crucial. Other solutions should be tried, including giving preference to the long-term unemployed when filling federal government jobs
Oh, what could go wrong with that plan? A lazy, drug-addled DUmmie now in charge of handling Obamacare forms?

You'd prefer a clear-headed IRS agent who was TOLD to target conservatives, versus someone who's ineptitude will hinder them in that goal?

Der Obamanfuhrer's government jobs "created" are also counted in this.

Der Obamanfuhrer's government jobs "created" are also counted in this.
Back in the mid 2000 years my daughter who worked with me decided to get a part time job and invited me to join her.
She worked for a company part time on weekends that did government research. I decided to give it a go as it was winter and nothing much to do around here.
Our Jobs required us to telephone random states and collect information by phone of the people that had had State training, or federal training in job skills areas.
Most of the questions revolved around if they were at the present time, working in a field they were trained in. Job Core was at the top of the list.
Very interesting findings, I found not one person in Mass. that had or was working in the field they were trained in, this to include Job Core that had housed and fed students for 8+ weeks.
I spent 16 hours a week calling and trying to find someone, anyone in that state that had benefited from any kind of government training.
I did find ONE person, a female from NH that took the carpentry classes but no one would hire her as she weighed 90 pounds and would require someone to carry her tools.
