Tomorrow our bank will be taken over by another bank. I hope things go smoothly. We'll have the same account numbers.
The real pain in the ass is changing all the autopays for the new routing number. I have several autopays (credit cards, utilities, etc.) since I don't want to get an undelivered mailed bill when we're traveling and be late in paying it. In almost 49 years of marriage, we've never been late, missed a payment, or had a check bounce.

Good luck hope it goes smoothly for you

Good luck, you'll need it. Some of these things can take a long time. It took me forever to stop an autopay. I hope they've improved the process.

My bank was taken over by another in February. They did not make us change the routing number for our direct deposits or auto-drafts. Some people got new account numbers, though. I think it was due to duplicate numbers with the new bank. For me, the transition was smooth; but others I know have had a terrible time. I know five people off the top of my head that switched banks over it. I hope you don't have a hard time.
I'm AM glad you posted this, though; it reminds me to contact my bank and see exactly how long we can use the old routing number.

Been through this several times.....don't sweat it.....and good luck.

That sucks sorry

I've had many, many job transfers, mostly with the government, and bank buyouts to deal with+. I know the pain because I like auto pays and deposits. It sucks, and there's no way to avoid it. Auto deposits are the worst of it because the Federal government, especially the SS, are the slowest to respond to it. Sometimes OPM can't even be reached.
Good luck.

That's the main problem most people here has with the "new" bank. Like I said earlier....they lost several customers over the change.

Find out how long it takes for a deposit to credit to your account.
When a bank I had been with since moving here, went from First American to Regions... it took 3 business days for them to credit my commission check drawn on a local bank. In the meantime, Regions paid 4 things - totalling over $2000 - and charged me overdraft fees of $120. :censored:
After a "discussion" with the bank manager - who was NOT new - I changed banks.

The new debit/credit card now works.
Everything is supposed to be online at 8:00am Monday.

I recently went through a bank merger and things went pretty smooth. There were some minor issues like online banking passwords but nothing that was a huge deal. My old bank was based in TX and they were shut down by the FDIC and taken over by another bank in TX, I like them.
This is an Asian-American owned National Bank with full FDIC insurance coverage, located in Houston, Texas. The bank was formed by 6 organizers in August 1997 and opened for business on May 18, 1998. The main facility is located at 9999 Bellaire Blvd., near the southeast corner of the intersection on Beltway 8 and Bellaire Blvd. in Houston

My password has to be all in lower case. OPPOSITE OF THE OLD BANK.

My bank won't permit special characters. I really don't like it.

Password rules suck. At one time I could use my same password(s) at work as other places. That no longer works.
