Shock poll: Wealthy, not middle class, support Obama
May 1, 2013 | 3:58 pm
President Obama's approval numbers are starting to mimic Mitt Romney's.
According to a new YouGov poll, it's the rich -- not the poor or middle class -- who back Obama more despite his 2012 campaign attacking the rich.
The poll for the Economist found that fewer than half of those with incomes less than $100,000 per year approve of Obama's performance, while he enjoys a 54 percent approval rating among those with incomes higher than that.
Those earning less than $40,000 a year disapprove of the president's performance, 51 percent to 45 percent. Those earning $40,000 to $100,000 disapprove by a rate of 50 percent to 48 percent.
"A largely jobless recovery coupled with a Quantitative-Easing-fueled stock market rally seems to earn more smiles from the upscale among us, fewer from the working class," said the pollsters.

Then again, all along we've been saying that conservatives are for the little guy. One more piece of evidence that the DUllards will ignore.

Ironic.

Ironic.
Not really. We did not hear a lot about those small grass roots donors this last election. It was all about the Benjamins coming from high rollers at $30K per plate fund raisers. Those people knew what their money was buying.

I notice many rich people are liberal. Not all of course.

I think more of the uber wealthy are liberal, though.

Ironic.
Ever read Atlas Shrugged? Rand got that class down quite well in it.

That what I was thinking as well.

This does not surprise me. Money talks and bullshit walks.

The wealthy generally don't worry that much about tax bite. There are exceptions and definitely there are those who choke a little when they get their tax bill.
But most of 'em don't worry where and when their next meal is coming from, so generally from a financial perspective, they don't much care.
These folks are often so disconnected from anything other than their little world that they don't see the encroachment that the government (fed, state and local) puts on their lives. Classic head-in-the-sand stuff.
White guilt also plays a part, though I damned sure don't understand that.
