While there is a push to ban assault rifles, why not ban sniper rifles?
Here, for example, is a Remington 700:

Some civilians own this type of rifle.
  :thatsright:

GTFO! Yes, lets ban HUNTING weapons.

1. Why not reinterpret the 2nd and have zero guns in the streets for private individuals

being that militias are the State National Guard

At least he's honest about grabbing guns.

4. Could it be that isn't a sniper rifle, but is actually a hunting rifle?

And rifles of ALL times account for only 3% of all firearm deaths?

Poor mole. Not long for DU.

13. Does that take a clip or is it the kind you pull the handle back?

Scary looking and not the kind of hunting rifles I imagined.

Lets get rid of them

another mole not long for DU. DU had a ppurge of Pro-Gun lifers a while ago. Even the forum set aside for pro-gun is swamped with anti-gun fanatics.

Remington 700
:panic: A bolt-action rifle that only holds 3-4 rounds, max.

What a bunch of dumbasses.

I have two 700s, a .222 heavy barrel and a .300 Savage classic model.

They both hold four, plus one in the chamber.

They're both great riffles, although the Classic was shipped with about a ten pound trigger pull with a huge amount of creep. A lawyer special.

I had a trigger job done on it and now it breaks like glass at about 2.5 or 3 pounds, perfect for me.

I have a 700 classic in 243 and I sniped quite a few deer with it. Many cross canyon shots!

Banning liberals would yield better results.

Scary looking and not the kind of hunting rifles I imagined. Just what is being "imagined"?

Lets get rid of them Classic liberal answer, borne of ignorance.
Perfect example of liberal thought process. Almost tooo perfect.

Yeah you'd like that to hppen wouldn't you?  Just have 44 issue an executive order outlawing the 2nd Amendment.

I expected this, and I'm sure a lot of others did, too. These morons would ban revolvers because of the scary "cylinder" that spins around flinging "cop-killer bullets" at innocents. They have no intention of ending their push with an AWB. It's sickening that anything "scary looking" to them is on the table for a ban.

I have a Remington 700 SPS Tactical AAC-SD in .308. Hell will freeze over before I hand that one in.

I had a Remington 700 for a short while many years ago.  It had a two-position selectable trigger.  One was a standard 5-6 pound pull, the other was something like 1.5-2 pounds.  You could sneeze and the damn thing would go off.

135. That is a normal bolt-action rifle with a high quality scope.

The only difference between it and a 'classic hunting rifle' is the fact that the stock is black, rather than made out of wood.

Which was one of the criteria used by you gun-grabbing, ignorant nuts. "It's black! OMG! It looks scary! Let's ban it!" Idiots.

The 700 is considered THE sport hunting rifle.

That's bad....bad, bad, bad riffle....should be outlawed.

NO! What's truly bad about that riffle is that I don't own one.

My home defense shotgun is all black.  I'm sure it'll be on these idiot's lists before long.

A set trigger on a 700? Gotta believe that's some kind of aftermarket finagling.
