Ah the joys of...side effects

Yup, needed new med for diabetes, side effect...weight gain.

So back at the fight of finding the exercise/ intake combo to lose that weight and keep the med.

My dad had such a mild form, really.

And for those hung calories in, calories out mantra, just damn fracking stuff it.

It's in the label, side effect, weight gain.

So many meds have that side effect.

We are trying a new med within the same family as well.

So just got off the elliptical. I am afraid this will require a lot more exercise as well.

Hmmmm.  The above's the whole campfire.

Cousin nadin first posted this in the "chronic health conditons" forum on Skins's island, and garnering no primitive interest, she cross-posted it in the "weight loss" forum too.  Garnering no primitives interest there, one wonders where it's going next.

Is "Diabetes Expert" on her resume?

Oh, Bally!  Please pick up the red phone! :whistling:

You know, cousin nadin's problem is she thinks that running off her mouth burns up as many calories as running on her legs.

If the only exercise she gets is typing with those stubby fingers and running her yap then it is no wonder why shes as round as a tire on a 747.

Yup I started to gain a tad, so went back to my usual eating habits... as in nothing major, just four pounds

Folks, I have maintained a fifty pound loss for now five years... would love to lose another twenty, but doc and I agree that this is probably set point...

You can do it.

Just came home from using my bike
Last year we mostly did not...due to Fuku, but today I just went on a short bike ride...

Due to one med, it seems to be the story of my life...well anyway, feel food to be back on that saddle.

Feel food, indeed. If it could speak, I wonder what the saddle would have to say.

It's not a prophecy, it's a warning. Depends on how hard you're willing to work to combat side effects. Granted, there are people who aren't physically capable of exercising but being a fat, bald google jockey isn't one of them.

Larry the Cable Guy said his sister was a big ol' sum. Tried every diet out there but couldn't figure out why she wasn't losing weight. Then he sees the yard littered with HoHo wrappers.

Stop eating sugar. Git R Done. :hammer:

I think Skinner needs to dedicate a separate area on DU just for nadin to post. It could be like DU's version of a 24 hour news network. DU's MSNBC.

We'd have to have a consensus but I don't think that qualifies as an occupation.

Am I reading this correctly that five years ago she was over-weight, but she now thinks that, except for 20lbs, she's a lean, mean, fighting machine?

Yup.

Yup.

You can't improve upon perfection.

I do want to make it clear that I'm not making fun of nadin's weight. I do intend to make fun of nadin's impression of nadin's weight any chance I get.

I personally like a woman with a little meat on her bones. I also happen to like her to have hair on her head, an intelligent brain inside her skull, and no narcissism.

Hell, it'd probably have the same amount of traffic/ratings--zero.

NoNoNo!

Think of the environment.  No landfill.

Toxic waste dump, instead.

Yup I started to gain a tad, define "tad" so went back to my usual eating habits... shovel, or both hands? as in nothing major, just four pounds of food.

Folks, I have maintained a fifty pound loss for now five years... would love to lose another twenty, but doc and I agree that this is probably set point...set, point, and match!

I wonder if she does her weight loss results the same way Congress does a budget.

IOW, she INTENDED to gain 100 pounds over 5 years, but only gained 50, resulting in a 50 pound weight loss.
