Sad But True: Want to go to a public event where everybody obeys the law and picks up their trash? Go to a Tea Party event. Want to hear people thunder about the Man and Oppression? Watch the losers smoke pot at the Occupy rallies.
I remember going to the Promise Keeper's event in Washington DC in 1997. There were an estimated 800,000-1,200,000 people there. When we left, it was nearly spotless. How ironic that the left who supposedly cares about the environment don't actually know how to clean up after themselves. Yet they feel the self-righteousness to try and tell others how they should live their lives... hypocrisy and laziness is a bad combination.
What would you expect from a bunch of stoners- Is it too much to ask to pick up your trash, you are all supposed to be so enlightened!
This is the same kind of mess the Tea Party leaves after their rallies isn't it
Your typical Obama thugs, selfish, entitled slobs. Where's their next check? Where's their next handout? The mess? Oh, you taxpayers can clean that up. Had enough, moron Obama voters? OOOOPS, I forgot, moron Obama voters don't pay taxes, just want the rest of us to take care of you forever.
You know the crowd that shows up to these events. Normally, their mom cleans up after them.
People can be incredibly stupid, and stupidity is KILLING our social freedoms. You idiots have a scenic, beautiful place to gather and do something that is pleasant and albeit illegal, it is more or less tolerated. But that isn't enough. You can toke and smoke but not pick up after your sorry selves. People like you are the reason we are losing our freedoms because you always have to have an authority to make you behave.
Why is anyone surprised by this? Most potheads are liberals and liberals are trash with no respect, culture or class...DUHHHHHHHHHH!
SF these are you people so suck it up and deal with it. No whining. You reap what you sow.
All that litter from only 10,00 people.... I remember the MLK Day rally that Glenn Beck sponsored a couple years ago on the Mall in Wash DC. 700,000 (minimum) and there was not so much as a scrap of paper on the ground when it ended. Who are the "nature lovers" exactly?
There's so much projection and fakeness in their ideology, they talk the talk but they don't walk the walk.

Typical of obama voters. Always expect a mess from them.
Cannot blame them. Obama leaves a mess wherever he goes.

People who smoke pot smell. Unclean, dirty people. No surprise they are messy.
Sarah_M 9:46 PM on April 22, 2013
Whenever you get a few thousand leftists together you need to bring in front-loaders to clean up. I bet every one of that group would say they care about the environment. But then all leftists are eith idiots or liars or both. Their actions show what they really are.

Pot smokers are tax payers, well some anyway. I ate some good burgers and hot dogs and each time could not find a garbage can. Sorry.

You have perfectly described the mentality of the left. "Someone didn't give me something to throw stuff away, so I did the least possible in response." You should have carried your own garbage out -- not thrown it on the ground. You did the laziest thing possible, given the situation." Someone wasn't there to take your waste, so you left it for someone else to pick up. You summarized in one sentence the fact that you have given up your personal responsibilities to the nanny-state and to others that are supposed to care for you

Why is it that the folks that push for these liberal ideas are the same ones that hug the tress, want clear water, breath clean air and pollute the very ground they stand on.
freecheese 2:45 PM on April 22, 2013
I said from the get-go, this resembles a democrat political rally or an OWS gathering. I was right.
I'll bet the contents of the trash collection could finish the story.
I'm visualizing what a real Conservative Cave would look like as compared the home of the sewer rats.

3. Unfortunate but not the norm
Seems to be bad planning on the part of the event organizers. I have volunteered for the Seattle Hempfest for many years, and organizers there make sure the park is spotless before it's all done.

idiots.

12. I think you're making an assumption
That all of the people who went to the park on 4-20 were part of "the cause". I seriously doubt that this is the case in this situation. Pot activists would not leave the park trashed. I'm sure most of these people were just pot smokers, which encompass a variegated segment of the population.

10. What a shame!
I'd have expected... I don't know... maybe a liberal-leaning crowd sensitive to and caring of the environment? Not a good way to gain public sympathy/support, morons.

11. This is nothing.
I talked to a guy who helped on the clean-up crew after the 1969 Woodstock.
He said they were cleaning up garbage for weeks.

13. It's a common problem for all large groups.
Public goods are underproduced. This is due to lack of will to lead, lack of sanctions, lack of surveillance.
It encourages free-riding and leads to suboptimal outcomes.

21. People are the problem
Worked a religious rally over the weekend, families and old people. Still a giant mess. Venue had cleaning staff.
1) "(Palin) did a disservice to every woman in America. She knew from the first month of pregnancy that kid was going to be Down’s Syndrome. It’s brain dead. A virtual vegetable. She carries it to all these different political events against abortion, she did it just because she didn’t want to say she’d had an abortion. How long is it going to live? Another 12, 15 years? Doesn’t even know it’s in this world. So what kind of compassionate conservative is she? I don’t think anybody will want her near the White House." -- Larry Flynt
2) "You get this one pregnant, she stays pregnant. Karma's a b*tch, isn't it?" -- A description of Mary Katharine Ham by Guy Cimbalo, who published a list of conservative women he'd like to "hate f***". The article was so vile that even Playboy eventually decided to pull it.
3) "I know it wasn’t rape-rape. I think it was something else, but I don’t believe it was rape-rape." -- Whoopi Goldberg on Roman Polanski’s rape of a 13 year-old girl.
4) "Three years ago this week, an intoxicated Christine O'Donnell showed up at the apartment of a 25-year-old Philadelphian and ended up spending the night in his bed. Here's his story—and photos—of his escapade with the would-be Delaware senator." -- The opening from a Gawker piece by a loser named Dustin Dominiak that was called "I Had a One-Night Stand With Christine O'Donnell" despite the fact there was no sex involved in the story.
5) "You know what, man? I am going to literally — if (Palin) gets elected president, I am going to hang out on the grassy knoll all the time, just loaded and ready — because you know what? It’s for my country. It’s for my country. If I got to sacrifice myself, it’s for my country." -- Christopher Titus
6) "What about saying she's a whore?" -- California Governor Jerry Brown and an aide discuss an ad they may run against Meg Whitman.
7) "President Obama is going to be visiting Joplin, Missouri, on Sunday, but you know what they’re talking about? Like this right-wing slut, what’s her name, Laura Ingraham? Yeah, she’s a talk slut. You see, she was, back in the day, praising President Reagan when he was drinking a beer overseas. But now that Obama’s doing it, they’re working him over." -- Ed Schultz
8) "She's a dumb b*tch!" -- Perez Hilton on Carrie Prejean
9) "Lyin’ A** B*tch." -- The song the band played when Michele Bachmann took the stage on “Late Night with Jimmy Fallonâ€
10) "Palin’s tweet made me come in my pants." -- Andrew Sullivan
11) “The broader question if Sarah Palin becomes vice president, will she be shortchanging her kids or will she be shortchanging the country?†-- NBC correspondent Amy Robach
12) "...The total mindless, morally bankrupt, knee-jerk, fascistic hatred — without which Michelle Malkin would just be a big mashed-up bag of meat with lipstick on it." -- Keith Olbermann
13) "We want to have her over for dinner. I trust her. I want her watching my kids. I want her laying next to me in bed. That's the way people vote." -- Donny Deutsch about Sarah Palin
14) "You better be very careful. You’re a woman, you better be very careful about who you say I carry water for..." -- Bob Beckel to Pamela Geller
15) "The medical term for Down Syndrome is Trisomy-21 or Trisomy-g. It is often shortened in medical slang to Tri-g. Is it not perfectly possible that the very name given to this poor child, being reared by Bristol, is another form of mockery of his condition, along with the “retarded baby†tag? And does the way in which this poor child was hauled around the country on a book tour, being dragged out in front of flash photographs in the middle of the night, barely clothed, suggest someone who actually cares for children with special needs, or rather sees them as a way to keep the spotlight on her?" -- Andrew Sullivan
16) "On so many levels (S.E. Cupp’s) a perfect demonstration of the necessity of the work Planned Parenthood does." -- Keith Olbermann
17) “It’s good (Michelle Malkin’s) in D.C. and I’m in New York. I’d spit on her if I saw her.†-- Geraldo Rivera
18) "I really don’t give a f*ck (about Polanski’s rape of a 13 year old). Look, am I going to sit and weep every time a young hooker feels as though she’s been taken advantage of?" -- Gore Vidal
19) “You have to understand how things work in a closing society in order to understand ‘Palin Power.’ A gang or cabal seizes power, usually with an affable, weak figurehead at the fore. Then they will hold elections — but they will make sure that the election will be corrupted and that the next affable, weak figurehead is entirely in their control.†-- Naomi Wolf
20) "I’m all for masturbating to Christine O’Donnell… but why limit it to one day? I hereby declare every day between now and November 2 — when O’Donnell’s nomination costs the GOP a Senate seat — to be Masturbate to Christine O’Donnell Day. Rub one out for freedom, people!" -- Dan Savage
Something like this, I think:

Congressional leaders in both parties are engaged in high-level, confidential talks about exempting lawmakers and Capitol Hill aides from the insurance exchanges they are mandated to join as part of President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul, sources in both parties said.
The talks — which involve Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.), House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio), the Obama administration and other top lawmakers — are extraordinarily sensitive, with both sides acutely aware of the potential for political fallout from giving carve-outs from the hugely controversial law to 535 lawmakers and thousands of their aides. Discussions have stretched out for months, sources said.
Yet if Capitol Hill leaders move forward with the plan, they risk being dubbed hypocrites by their political rivals and the American public. By removing themselves from a key Obamacare component, lawmakers and aides would be held to a different standard than the people who put them in office.
Democrats, in particular, would take a public hammering as the traditional boosters of Obamacare. Republicans would undoubtedly attempt to shred them over any attempt to escape coverage by it, unless Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) give Democrats cover by backing it.
There is concern in some quarters that the provision requiring lawmakers and staffers to join the exchanges, if it isn’t revised, could lead to a “brain drain†on Capitol Hill, as several sources close to the talks put it.

Sounds like the ruling class is having a "Let them eat cake" kind of moment which, if history is any kind of guide, will lead to the nation having a reciprocal "Off with their heads" kind of era.
Obamacare is tyranny.
