3. i do not know how to use a gun and am not comfortable with guns. so...
i am fine without a gun and more comforted with police out there searching.
I don't know how to use a fire extinguisher and am not comfortable with them, so I am fine without an extinguisher and more comforted with the fire department putting out the fire.

Seriously they have watched way too many movies. Gun owners do not just start spraying bullets everywhere. I swear they think everyone is as stupid as they are and can't be trusted with a dangerous gun. :mental:

They sleep with guns by their side and many carry their guns everywhere they go thinking there will be a hero moment when they can pull trigger.
Of course the truth is that the hero moment will never actually come. The chances of some terrorist fugitive bomber entering your home are virtually zero.
What usually does end up happening in gun nut homes is that the gun nut or family members have a much greater chance of dying from gun violence simply because the gun is present in the home and not because of an armed intruder.
This idiot watches too many movies too. They can't figure out and have no understanding of how people who own guns think and behave. I seriously doubt many gun owners are looking to be Mr hero. They are just helping to insure that they won't be the ones lying on the pavement having chalk lines drawn around them.

I don't need a "murerous" terrorist deciding to take refuge in my home and helping himself to my gun.
I don't need to live in fear.

People so ignorant and incompetent are safer without a gun. They are the ones that would actually do something stupid, like shoot a kid or their own foot. If they ever did face a life threatening emergency, they can crawl around begging for their lives, and maybe the bad guy will be too disgusted to actually shoot. Maybe ...
Personally, if something like that did happen to me, I'd greatly prefer dying while attempting to take the guy out rather than begging and crying.

Actually, I'd be just fine without someone breaking into my home intent on relieving me or my loved ones of property and lives. But make no mistake, you come into my home with ill intent, you'll be leaving in a box if I have my way. And while I'll surely feel horrible about having taken a human life, I'll be comforted by the fact that MY loved ones are safer than they were when you came in.

The total lack of intellectual curiosity is another of their hallmarks. Nothing can be evaluated with any other filter than their own 5-7 year old view. It must be a wonderfull world they live in because it sure isn't the one here on Planet Earth. They do know the cops are under no obligation to protect them by the ruling of SCOTUS? I have had to use my gun to stop someone just after they shot another person three times in the back of the head and I was damn glad I had a gun to do it with otherwise that jackass might have shot more people as he made his escape out the front door of the place I was working at. Not a Rambo moment just a fact of what happened when some nutjob takes the law into his own hands and kills someone.
