Make gun owners the new PARIAH
Just like smokers in public. This is HOW it can be done. SHUN them, and their guns. Yes, that especially includes family members.

OMG how could we ever survive being shunned by DUmmies? :rotf:

1. I am not going to shun my loved ones.
Cutting off productive communication is not the way to peace, in my opinion.

2. So my sister, brother-in-law, dad, nephews, uncles...why not make criminals pariah's?
Not one family member I know has ever harmed anyone with a gun, and my dad has a ccw (though he does not use it).
50 million gun owners and a few misuse them so we want to brand them all?
Reminds me of how the RW reacted after to 9/11 to certain people in society.
Yeah that crazy right wing blaming militant Islamic groups for the terror attack that they unleashed on us.

10. Relax, your family's guns are considered more valuable than the lives of urban children in DC.
The right to own an implement of mass death is more sacrosanct than the right to not die of hunger or preventable disease.
Guess we can't have pressure cookers anymore either, since they can be used as an implement of mass death.

30. There were 57 votes in the Senate today to effectively gut every state gun control law.
57 votes for the NRA's 'reciprocity' wet dream which would have allowed anyone with a permit from any state to carry a weapon in all 50 states.
Congress does not give a shit about how many dead children arise from the uncontrolled flow of guns in this country.
Congress wants to make it easier for mass murdering psychopaths to get weapons.
Gun owners are the most politically privileged group in the country outside of the bankers.
You are an idiot. There are plenty of laws already designed to help keep guns out of the hands of psychopaths and so far they have stopped zero of these events. Only an idiot would think that just one more law will do the trick.

I don't want my grandkids in any home with guns - I plan on calling every parent in my grandson's class.

I wouldn't my grandchildren in the home of any DUmmy.

34. I Don't Know ONE
liberal who owns a gun.
If I meet one...we won't be buddies or even acquaintances.
True liberals don't need Glocks - or assault weapons.
Put your money where your mouth is and put a huge "Gun Free Zone" sign in front of your house.

45. **** Guns and The People Who Buy Them
for supporting the billion dollar gun industry, who then supports the ****ers at the NRA and all the other evil asshole pro-gun organizations.
Bravo brave liberals - don't eat Monsanto tomatoes, or buy Georgia Pacific Koch paper - support the NRA instead.
Now we get to the root of the problem. Gun manufacturers and sellers make profits, and we all know profit is evil, unless you are a DUmmy and they can profit all they want.

NO, our children will NOT be taken shooting. YES, your guns WILL be in a combination safe where the children cannot see or have access to them. NO, I will not go anywhere with you while you are CARRYING YOUR gun. NO, I will not go with you to a shooting range. NO, I do not want you to buy ME a gun.
Our now adult daughters, son-in-law, brother-in-law: WE do not not want you in OUR HOME if you bring your gun into it.
Neighbors: From me, you will NOT be allowed in my home with your
gun.
WE don't have this right? Personally, would like to see OPEN carry so I can AVOID YOU. Don't like that? TOUGH. MY choice trumps YOUR choice on all of the above.
She needs a gun free zone sign in front of her house too.
I doubt anyone would argue against her not allowing armed people in her house, that is her choice. Yet she would happily deny you and I our choice to have guns in our homes.

I can't imagine why any neighbors would want a freak like HockeyPuck in their home in the first place.

No guns around me. Our adult children do that also. The guns are in a combination safe, not in the nightstand or around the house, and he is all alone when he wants to be with his guns. Yeah, around guns, and he is shunned by the entire family.
I do not want to be around anyone with a gun. I recognize HE can have his guns, but I don't have to share, or be around them. I understand that by default that his guns are my guns as his spouse, but since we are both old, if he should die before me and I inherit them, it will be my right to get rid of them, which I WILL do. In fact, he is in the hospital right now. I suppose I should ask him what the combination is and if he wants to sell them to somebody he knows. Nobody in the family wants his guns or the responsibility to sell them.

I'd eject as soon as the kids were able to care for themselves.

I'm more than happy to be a PARIAH! Let's make it very, very clear to anyone that wants the information just which houses have PARIAHs and which do not. Of course, most of the DUmp has very little worth stealing...but I'm sure there are lots of criminals that wouldn't mind stealing their drugs, if nothing else.

Shunning. I've seen it mentioned at DU before. Like all democrats would cooperate and never speak to certain people.
The problem with this great idea is very simple: Democrats never shut up! If they did I would wear a "Gun Owner" t-shirt everywhere.
I think we should encourage this idea. Normal people would come to despise the rats real quick.

Because anti gun laws work so darn well in gun free zones...like schools & inner cities.

It must be a horrible existence to have such an irrational fear of an inanimate object.

Their entire existence is built on fearing everything apart from the government - such a lack of trust in themselves that they need the government to make all of their decisions for them.

These idiots are huge IDIOTS! They don't get it. The guns are not going to poof and disappear the minute someone signs a ban. The criminals are still going to kill with ILLEGAL guns or weapons. YOU have to train these savages that do not value life, get them early and away from their bad peers, introduce some morals into their household. Geez how hard is it to get? :thatsright:

How about your car? Is it more valuable than the lives of children you could kill while driving it?

It occurs to me that the DUches think that they are the ones doing the shunning and not society as a whole. I remind them that it takes the internet and many countries around the world to find the 5000+/- misfits that infest that site.
IOW, the world is not laughing with you.

It would be easy to kick this one to the curb.
My wife hid my guns one time and said she had got her dad to take them to her parents house. She thought it was hilarious, right up until I handed her the keys to her car and told her not to come back until every last part and bullet was accounted for. Then got even more upset when I told her that her joke was not funny.

10. Relax, your family's guns are considered more valuable than the lives of urban children in DC.
The right to own an implement of mass death is more sacrosanct than the right to not die of hunger or preventable disease.
How the **** does my owning guns FOR PROTECTION in rural Oregon where the police CANNOT get here in time to do anything but draw chalk outlines after a crime has been committed, affect you or anyone else (especially poor kids who are only props for you self centered pigs). Frankly, I'd rather have that outline not be mine. There is a freight train that runs by here twice a day...so close I could reach out and touch it. The guys jumping off that train are not the most noble looking folks I've ever seen in my life. You'd be surprised how many of them try to hang out on my property. Casually walking outside with a couple of dogs and a loaded shotgun and asking what they're doing there chases them away every time.
But as far as children go, are you saying people (including children) who DO NOT live in urban DC are LESS important? Because, while it might be rare, it's a possibility, while running around the property with my grandchildren we could run into a bear. Even worse, a mother bear...even worse than that be between a mother bear and her cubs. Personally, I'd rather not have to explain to my son and daughter in law that their children were mauled to death because if I used my guns, children in DC might die through starvation or disease. I'd be committed for life and rightly so.
Try not to be so ****ing selfish and narrow minded! How the hell do you see any connection between the "right to not die of hunger or preventable disease" connected to gun control? To my knowledge, I've never gotten meningitis from my pistol. Heck, not even my shotgun, which is considerably bigger. As for hunger...give those kids free summer camp every year where they can learn to fish, hunt and grow their own food so when they grow up they won't need to depend on you and you're "compassionate" slave ownership. As a bonus, they'd learn common sense nutrition which would help their 3rd generation welfare mothers make better food choices when using our tax dollars to buy groceries.
So tell me, if everyone came out tomorrow and said, "oh, this geek is so wise, let's just give up our guns so no child in DC will go hungry again" how the hell would that work? Sheesh, I bet your family has to nail your foot to the floor when you go to bed at night so you won't get lost when you get up in the morning.
