Could national reciprocity of concealed-carry permits kill the gun bill?
Moments after clearing the first procedural hurdle, Democrats and gun control groups began readying themselves for a potentially more difficult fight: Weeks of Senate debate defending their carefully crafted legislation against possible amendments — particularly a plan to allow gun owners to carry concealed weapons from one state to another — that would kill the bill’s underlying goal.

If previous Senate votes are any guide, the concept of “national reciprocity” enjoys enough support in the Senate to pass.

The proposal won bipartisan approval in the GOP-controlled House last year with a margin of 272 to 154. And the National Rifle Association, which has successfully lobbied dozens of state legislatures over the years to allow concealed weapons permits, is expected to push for the provision’s inclusion in the new legislation

Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) described the measure this week as “the most pernicious” proposal under consideration and said approving the plan would mean that “Somebody could come from Wyoming to the big cities of New York or New Haven or Bridgeport and carry a concealed weapon, which is so against our way of life and the needs here in New York.” <=== :sosad:

It is going to be an interesting couple of months in Congress.0

If the Supreme Court decides that all states must honor same-sex marriage licenses from other states, even if a state's constitution defines marriage as a legal union of a man and woman, the immediate legal challenge will come for 50 state recognition of concealed carry licenses, using that decision as precedent.

3. “Somebody could come from Wyoming to the big cities of New York or New Haven or Bridgeport and carry

a concealed weapon, which is so against our way of life and the needs here in New York.” And they would to because so many people that do not like in Urban areas truly believe that Cities are death traps and that if you have to go to the city your going to be attacked and shot at multiply times during your stay. All of which is bullshit.

I live out in the sticks. Most homes around here have a gun in the open within 100'.

In 2 years we've had 1 property crime and no violent crimes.

Works for me.

Although I'd love to see this amendment pass and then some lib state challenge it on 10A grounds.

Turn can upside down and spray excess from nozzle feed....then clean external paint from nozzle.....but that is if there is any paint left in the can.

I guess the DUmmies need a grade school level class in spray paint.....right after "banana peeling" with latex.

The gun grabbers were getting their asses spanked so regularly and severely in the Gun Control & RKBA (Gungeon) forum that they begged Skinner for, and received, their own exclusive group - the new Gun Control Reform Activism forum. I'll never forget the day One-Eyed Fat Man flogged The Magistrate so badly on the history of Leftist violence in the U.S. that The Magistrate dropped all his pretentious "Sir" and "Ma'am" shit and was on the verge of the internet version of shrieking. He never again set foot in the Gungeon after that, even after OEFM left.

Now the grabbers actually have two groups, one they can go to and drop snarky, anti-gun propaganda and a second they can run away to afterwards and ban anyone who follows them and calls them on their BS. The craven little cowardly bastards. I'm sure their virtual life on DU imitates their real life.

Even if National CCW was included in the bill it would not make a difference. Both NJ and NY routinely violate FOPA for gun owners traveling from one location thru either state to a location in another state.

Dave Kople says the pro-gun stuff of the Toomey-Manchin Amendment are not very pro-gun and may actually allow for more gun control.
