How do I find DU Members (is there a member list?)
I've been here a while and I have invited some friends to join, but I want to know when they get here, how do I find them? I've looked to see if there is member's list but haven't found one.

1. Sorry, there's no member list.
The easiest way to find them is to have them either call you, or email you to tell you the news.
In order to use the DU private mail, you have to have 50 posts first, so that is probably not going to work. Some people don't post much, and take awhile to get to 50 posts.
I hope they join and have a great time.

There is a box next to The Find Member.
Type in the first few letters of their usernames, click 'Find Member' Button.
Click on the partial matches link.
Go!

3. If they are friends perhaps they will tell you when they join and under what name you can find their posts???
This reminds of how difficult it was, during the early 1990s, to find maps--maps of any place--in the socialist paradises of the workers and peasants (and in those rare instances where one was found, it always had deliberately-inserted errors and omissions put in by the secret police).
But of course if one understands my fellow alum's mind-set.....

4. Thanks to you all for the information you have provided. I have really been enjoying coming here because I am so tired of the vitriol and mean-spirited comments that most of us on the left are subjected to in other Forums. Those on the right are no longer willing to discuss anything in a civil manner.
I'm sure that my friends will use the same names they have been using, so I won't have any trouble locating them after they have posted a few posts. I just thought maybe there was a member's list so that I could check to see when they join, but the search feature provided in my inbox that was mentioned will be good enough.

Now, here on conservativecave, because we're not the sort who likes to hide things from members, it's easy to find members.
On the top of every single page there's "MEMBERS"; click on it.
It shows a list of members in alphabetical order.
BUT the handy-dandy thing is that by clicking on the header at the top of each column, the list rearranges itself in that order. For example, by clicking on "posts", it shows members in descending order by the number of posts the member's made.

There should be a mandatory background check and from that there could be a DUchebag registry so we would all know what to look out for.
