And what happened to the Bonus Army? They were overrun by an Army, led by MacArthur, all too willing to get rid of them because they presented "bad optics" for the sitting President.

Anyone wanna bet against Dempsey doing the same thing nowadays if O found a similar demonstration politically inconvenient?

I have read that MacArthur exceeded Hoovers orders and was acting on orders from FDR.

I will not take that bet. Dempsey is just another political hack with stars on his shoulders.
