:cheersmate:
RIP to one the funniest people I've ever known.

Jonathon Winters suffered from mental illness not long before he did "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World", which is without question one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. He talks about that time here:

RIP, Jonathon. Absolutely one of the greats.
The famous gas station destruction scene from "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad World."

I don't know who he is.
And that is your loss. :-)

He was one of my pops favorite RIP sir

I don't know who he is.
He was Larry the Cable Guy's predecessor -- but with a lot more class and a lot more cerebral humor. A master of improvisation and, like a lot of comedians of his time, he did well with impersonations.
Check out Don Rickles (who's still alive), Rich Little, Nipsey Russell. Any and all of those guys will be on the Dean Martin Roasts and they, in and of themselves, are a master of comedic entertainment.

The comedy roasts that they have on Comedy Central can't hold a candle to the old Dean Martin Roasts.

How true, how true that is.

The Comedy Central roasts are unworthy to bear the shoes of the old Dean Martin Roasts.

Robin Williams has said that Jonathan Winters was a mentor of his.
RIP, Mr. Winters.
-
Those Dean Martin Roasts were side-splittingly funny! I even find myself watching the infomercials for the dvds and laughing my butt off. The "roasts" on CC now are just prurient and not even remotely funny.

A comedy genius.
