According to a tweet made on the official Disney fan club page, Annette Funicello has passed away at age 70.

Not really, IIRC, she's had MS for quite some time. But still, when you see people you grew up with passing on, you know you're getting up there too...

Meh. People live a long time with MS. Seventy is not terribly old.

An article I read said she had been in a MS coma for years.

I remember watching her with Frankie Avalon in beach party films aired on television.

I like a lot of guys were "in love with her" when we were that age but as she grew older and did the beach movies I lost interest.
