Today the British Foreign Office confirmed it had been told its staff were at risk while Russia said it was in 'close contact with the U.S, China and South Korea' about airlifting workers out.

Didn't someone on here say something to the effect of, "When South Korea sends all of the dependents home, it's about to start," or something like that? That may be the next step. :o

Two dozen countries, including the UK, have diplomatic relations with the Norks?
Wow. I'm stunned at that. I would've thought your communist or communist-leaning states for sure - China, Cuba, Venezuela, Russia.
Wiki says:
As of June 2012 North Korea maintains diplomatic relations with 165 states (including the State of Palestine[23]) and the European Union.[24]
Diplomatic relations of North Korea with the following states are terminated: Argentina,[25] Chile,[26] Iraq.[27]
North Korea has not established diplomatic relations with:
The United States
Bolivia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Panama, Paraguay, Uruguay;
Andorra, Estonia, Kosovo, France, Monaco and the Holy See;
Bhutan, Israel,[29] Japan,[31] Saudi Arabia, South Korea;[32]
Cook Islands, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Niue, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu;
Sovereign Military Order of Malta;[33]
Sahrawi Republic[38] and the rest of the states with limited recognition except Palestine.
Further:
France and Estonia are the only EU countries that do not maintain official diplomatic relations with the DPRK.[41
Ah, okay, this probably explains the disparity in numbers:
Australia and North Korea maintain diplomatic relations.[43]
As of January 2013, neither Australia nor North Korea has a physical diplomatic presence in the other country. Instead, diplomatic relations between the two are handled by non-resident embassies.

Kerry in ‘86: Missile Defense System is a ‘Cancer on Our Nation’s Defense’
http://www.cnsnews.com/news/article/kerry-86-missile-defense-system-cancer-our-nation-s-defense
In the 1980s, when now- Secretary of State John Kerry was a Democratic U.S. senator from Massachusetts, he criticized the Reagan administration’s plan for a missile defense system -- known as the Strategic Defense Initiative (SDI) -- calling it a “cancer on our nation’s defense.â€
North Korea may have nuclear missiles

An unclassified Pentagon report not yet released to the public suggests that North Korea can arm missiles with nuclear warheads, a lawmaker revealed Thursday.

Yeah, DOD has "upgraded" their assessment by saying the Norks can actually put a weapon on a missile.
But that it's probably unreliable.
The Jongster just can't keep his finger off that button. Daddy probably didn't play with him often enough when he was a boy, so now he's "affected" by bad parenting.
