People aren't interested in solutions.  they want to complain.

the price of gas has gone up hugely.   I spent saturday listening to some people complain about high gas prices and brag about protesting drilling in ANWAR.   :mental:   In a large part of the population, there is only a nodding acquaintance with reality. the sort of relationship where you know it exists but you don't like it much and ignore it.
