1. I have colleagues who pay more than I do in taxes because marriage equality has not won yet
I have friends who have to worry lest one of them has his immigration status revoked, because marriage equality has not won yet.
Now, I know that Time is making a different point, but still. Until marriage equality is the law of the land in all 50 states, "gay marriage" has not "already won."
Real people, real issues.
Marriage is not a right.

2. My intent here was to highlight the growing movement to equality. A Time cover is good.
Does it equate to legalization nation wide?
No, it's a Time magazine cover, one of 52 a year. And a very positive presentation of equality at that.
I'm sorry your friends have immigration shit going on. It's wrong, unfair and discriminatory.

3. We haven't won yet, but we do have a lot of momentum
Time has a huge readership, and millions will see the cover and read the article.
Here's to hoping the SCOTUS does the right thing and issues a sweeping ruling in favor of marriage equality.
Wait? What? :huh?: Time is losing readers. It has gone down hill along with Newsweek.

4. You must wonder why gay marriage is an issue to many people
Legalize it, make them have all the benefits that hetero marriages have, and call it a day.
-
It makes no difference primitives. Homosexuals can not reproduce.
-
A SCOTUS ruling will no more make two homos holding a mock ceremony a "marriage" than Roe v. Wade made a baby into a disposable clump of cells.
-
Time is headed the way of Newsweak so nothing those jerks say is even relevant.

If you want to see where all of this is heading, read Leviticus 18: 22-30. NYS is headed there now.

If that was the actual issue I really wouldn't care. (civil unions) - but it isn't, is it ?
Rest assured - if Gay Marriage is passed, you idiots will go after any institution that doesn't fully embrace it. -primarily the church.
Why else would civil unions not be good enough, especially when they are legally identical to marriage in every way save for the title ?
-
If so many people are in favor, why do gay marriage referenda fail every time--EVERY TIME--they're proposed? Even in liberal mecca California? Remember, SCOTUS isn't ruling on a referendum in Alabama. It was California!
Please answer that one, DUmmies.

Yeah, I mean, civil unions samey same marriage bennies right? Lower taxes ...that's the game destruction of Christianity right? There wouldn't destruction of Christianity be any ulterior implementation of Marxism motive here, is there? We trust bullshit you guys. C'mon, tell us there's nothing else leftist totalitarianism going on here.

Biblical interpretation aside, it's simply a biological epic fail. I remember, back before gays took over psychological academia to the point that homosexuality could no longer be referred to as 'Deviant' or 'Abnormal' (Which, biologically, it certainly is), that an explosion in homosexual behavior was one of the observed effects in lab rat overpopulation/overcrowding experiments (Which today would probably be prohibited themselves, as 'Unethical'). In those experiments, it was a sign that the crowding, shortages, and hierarchy issues in the rat populations had gotten past the carrying capacity of the environment, and that collapse, complete with widespread infanticide and cannibalism, wasn't far off.

I have a question about the "legally identical".
When a heterosexual couple gets married, they must get a divorce to become legally unmarried to each other.
Has any one seen any legal information regarding divorce between a homosexual couple?
If their marriage, or civil union isn't recognized in every state, do they need to get divorced to be legally unmarried to each other?
If they don't have to get a divorce, that's not fair to heterosexual couples who have to spend thousands of dollars getting divorced!!!
Homosexual couples should get ALLLLL the benefits of marriage.. not just the ones they want to pick and choose from... :fuelfire:

That is actually one of the things that the Gaystapo are using to force nationally recognized gay marriage - because if a gay couple rushes to a gay marriage state to get hitched, then return home to a state that doesn't recognize gay marriage, they actually can't get divorced.
And in the case of Massachusetts, a married couple needs to be a resident for a year before the state will divorce them. So, the married gay couple would need to move to a gay marriage state -and in the case of Massachusetts- maintain their residency for a year before they can get divorced.

It's happened here in California
Prop 8-Challenging Gay Couple Files for Divorce
The pair was among the first same-sex couples to be married in California, prior to passage of the state's now-reversed ban.

So far, the worst story I've heard is where a lesbian couple married, hired a guy to get one of them pregnant, they split up and sued the bio dad for child support. He has to pay too.
