I no longer watch it on TV, the commercials ruin it. I own my own copy. Start/stop whenever I want. No cuts, or editing. No dramatic moment ruined by, "Oh Fab! We're Glad! They put action packed Borax in you!"
Still there is one thing about the movie I wish I never knew. The gal who plays Moses' wife went on to play Lilly Munster in the Munsters. I just can't get Lilly Munster out of my head.
OK. Here is every third line in the movie:"Moses! Moses!"
Fun fact. Yul Brenner was a chain smoker. Every moment he was off screen he was puffing away. I'll bet the set, the costumes, the furniture all smelled of stale smoke after a while.
Anyhow, tomorrow I will have takeout from my local Mexican food place. set up the TV tray (yes I have one), and run the CD. Marathon my way thru the whole movie.
Hey join me tomorrow night. Lets all watch this together. And tell me what you are eating too, cause I'm nosy that way.

Last night my wife said she wanted to watch "Ben Hur".....I'm old enough that I saw it when it first came out.....and "The Ten Commandments".
No. I didn't get to see the very first talking movie...........just the second one.

Ben Hur is great. Love it.
I saw an SCTV parody of it once and I just died laughing...found a clip:

You can't watch a movie on TV now. There's three minutes of commercials every fifteen minutes... it takes three and a half hours to watch a two hour movie.
I'm trying to watch 'Platoon' right now. It's been on for nearly an hour and I've probably only seen 25 minutes of actual movie.

The series "The Bible" on history channel has been pretty good. I'm sure it will become an annual tradition this time of year for many people.

I watched part of that. It's good, but at some point I wanted to turn it off and put on 'Passion of the Christ'.
Same story, better production.

I'm sure it will be, that we everyone can recall how the devil looks like a jug eared Kenyan.

"The Greatest Story Ever Told" is on. I have it on disc too.
Gives me chills in my spine.
This is a great collection of images from around the world.

I've always loved Miklos Rozsa's music:

"The Bible" covered more of the Acts, and it touched on Revelation.
If you want to see that, it's out on DVD tomorrow (April 2nd).

I enjoyed the series very much, and highly recommend it.
