The elders who still believe they can take SK.

Regardless, they launch...it will be a lot of dying...in the early hours before the speed bump can get reinforcements.

Anybody uses nukes...all kinds of bets are all kind of off.

Drills imminent, according to CNN

this may see return fire from N. Korea.

Tensions are at an all time high.

CNN is actually covering this as breaking news.

Looking to see if CNN has updated their web page... and now to Wolf Blitzer.

Just meeting with the VEEP, Richardson and VEEP, as well as the viceminster for US Affairs, and Richardson was encouraged.

I don't know about you, but this is pins and needles moment.

I have not felt this way since oh Gulf War II... I SHOULD go get some emergency rations actually, but I am NOT on a frigging Island.

For that I stocked up for a month, and for two weeks me and oonnie, the parrot, hit on those fairly often.

Canned roas beef is vile, but yes there was a short shortage.

33. For the reasons you stated regarding US

they are doing what they are doing. Uncle Sam has obligations that it cannot meet short of a nuclear response, or a very long war and a general draft.

If we go for the latter, anybody drafted, pack warm, it gets cold there.

32. Yep, why I read it in college <-----why'd she change yep to yup?

it is a little dated.

It was written at the time when the US did that. OUr dominance IS waning.

I guess future historians will use Mahan's book as one bookend and this one as the other.

They could use the PNAC project, but that came a little late

46. Aaaaaaaannd, nothing happened....

Is anyone else completely unsurprised that these drills went off without response, and that war, breathlessly described as "pretty much imminent" upthread, never materialized?

Nads, I'm guessing that if your husband knew what you'd be like at this point in your life, he'd have taken a shore power wrench to your head the second he had you alone on the HALF DAY dependent's cruise you MIGHT have been on ONCE during your poor suffering husband's time in.

I never understood why some married guys looked forward to getting underway and going on Westpacs, ice runs, etc.

Thank you for showing me why, nads.  I will be forever grateful for your example of showing me WHY there were these guys on every boat, but especially your husband.

All these constant (this from the 2010 nads-a-thon) references and no hubby, who, as the known universe knows, was/is/never existed a PAC sailor. Just a fat blob and a parrot.   Hmmmmmm....... Oh, and a scanner.

I'll assume that's Pacific.

Oh, no--boats out of San Diego and Pearl (I did one of each) did runs to Chinhae every so often.  But how the **** would she know what/where the boat did when they were out?

Sounds like someone's cock holster runs just a little too freely in the Abbott household.

People with no sense shouldn't be trying to give two cents on anything.  That kind of thinking leads to 16-trillion dollar deficits.

Nadin,
Shut up you ignorant slut.

:lmao: That would imply that she gives "it" to numerous people, I think. I believe that to be a wrong assumption. Nobody would take it if she paid them..

Hi5 though for the laugh.
