We Are Truly A Sick Country When A Tragedy Like Newtown Does Not Move Us To Pass Gun Control

laws. The apparent fact that so many Americans have moved on and seem to have forgotten the children and teachers killed at Sandy Hook says a lot about us as a nation. We have become so callous and complacent. The NRA should be on the run and be out of business by now.

The run on guns and ammo are just so sick sick sick. It is hard to go anywhere and say you are proud to be an American.

You know what's really sick? Using the death of those kids and teachers in order to try to strip rights away from law abiding citizens who had nothing to do with what happened. This notion that somehow more laws on the books will make these sick bastards go fishing instead of shooting up a school is insanity.

I heard on the radio that we can't even enforce the laws we have, so what makes you idiots think another law is going to do a damn thing other than give you an emotional moment where you think you are solving a problem and you haven't done jack shit. That is what is wrong with leftists, they think they can simply pass laws and problems will magically get fixed, then they dislocate their shoulders patting themselves on the back. They never examine the results of what their ideas have caused and are blind to the fact that every time they meddle with our freedoms that things only get worse.

1. but don't you see, it's CREATING JOBS!

If that is true then that is still better than what 0bama has done.

Here is another example of how NOT to mole at DU.

14. NOBODY is complacent about events like Sandy Hook

Not even the NRA.

The issue is bigger to many people. 20 little kids killed is horrific to all of us. The question is whether 20, or 200, or 2000 dead toddlers should be a sufficient loss to compromise our second amendment rights.

Realizing that 2AR are suspect here, allow me to rephrase. If there was a way to restrict our right to free speech to save 20, or 200, or 2000 lives each year, would that be OK? If we chose to allow police to randomly search our homes without a warrant to save 2000...even 20,000 lives each year, would you support that?

I realize that many here don't see it this way, but this is the issue for many people. Constitutional rights are the basis of our society in the U.S. Do a few deaths (or a a few thousand deaths) justify restricting those rights?

I imagine MIRT will be on his ass soon enough.

What these jerk offs don't get, is that we can make all the gun control laws till we are blue in the face, some one who is intent on killing or causing mayhem, are going to break the lawe, hence, that is why they are called criminals.

You can argue that until you are blue in the face, they won't listen.
They are wrapped up in the emotion of "doing something" even if it doesn't work.

grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr! I know, they won't let these poor kids rest in peace. They (antigun groups)will keep bringing this up.
Another thing that irks me to no end, that these criminaks have obtained these guns illegally(black market), or they are not registered. So background checks,(universal or otherwise) are a moot point....

There was a clip on the anti gun rally in Portsmouth, NH today. But this one woman pissed me off!!!! She said, no assault, no clips holding more than 10 rounds etc... I am like you are not my ****in mother bitch. If you don't want that fine, but speak for yourself, and not others who want to keep the 2nd amendment right. I tried to find it by google, but couldn't!! grrrrrr

We are truly a sick country when a tragedy like the murder of millions on unborn babies does not move us to pass anti-abortion legislation.

How dare you even mention the possibility of infringing upon their "rights."

Exactly, including "freedom of (their) religion", and their right to sacrifice unborn children to their god.

But don't you DARE wear a cross necklace in public, or (GAIA FORBID!!!) at a public school!

We'd be a lot healthier country if we could get rid of you scum-sucking Libs, your society-destroying agenda, and the dependency class you have successfully created.

Ever since Algore invented the internet, waving the bloody shirt on the propaganda channels just doesn't have the same effect, does it, DUmbass?  I weep for your inability to take away from the rest of us like you used to, I really do.  It saddens me, this pain you must be going through to know you know so much better what is in our best interest.  I cannot tell you how sorry I am that you are ashamed to be associated with your lessors in this once great country.

I can only hope that you find solace in the knowledge that you are not alone.

I think it best if you are able to congregate with your fellow geniuses on DU and discuss how best to end your miserable existences of having to walk among those of us who don't give a flying **** what you want, or think is best for everyone else.

Using a tragedy like Sandy Hook for political gains is sick.
So far, the worst tragedy we've absorbed was the Gun Control Act of 1968.

They used the assassination of JFK's snotty little brother to pass it.

It's an old democrat strategy.

What Kermit Gosnell is being accused of is a terrible, terrible thing. May God have mercy on his soul and the souls of the woman he is on trial for causing the death of, as well as the seven recently born babies whose necks were stabbed with scissors and whose spinal cords were slit.

No we are a sick country when we allow politicians to spend money like it will never run out on programs that only harm those they claim to help and keep them in constant poverty. It's sick country when it is more important to give voting rights to illegals then it is t verify they are citizens to begin with . It's a sick country when someone leaves a woman to die in a car while some Democrat Senator saves his own ass at her expense. It's a sick country when a sitting president wouldn't lift one hand to help an Ambassador to this country while he is being attacked in his own embassy.
