Having been involved in firing a lot of them over 20 years of doing labor law, it's more complicated than firing a temp at-will employee for sure, but it's nowhere near as impossible as everyone wants to make out when they're looking for a whipping-boy...and everything that DOES make it more difficult is directly due to laws and systems imposed by Congress itself.
