Many of us have thrilled to the CalPig's jaw-dropping poetry, in awe of a mind that could produce such masterpieces as "Blink, Blink, Blink, Blink", and the hauntingly beautiful "Aching Seed".
But having conquered that art form, and apparently embarrassed by the raves her works drew from others, the CalPig withdrew.
It has been many months since the last poetic offering from Peggy appeared in the DUmp.
But now she finally has an heir apparent.
DUmmy Uncle Joe has clearly been studying at the foot of the CalPig.
His lyrical treatment of everyday life shows the CalPig influence in its purest form.

Birds (My first poem and a little profane.)
Birds
You shit on my roof
Why so aloof
You shit on my hair
What do you care
You shit from afar
Covered my car
You shit while you fly
Smack in my eye
You shit on my deck
What the heck
You shit on my coat
Why should you gloat
You shit where you will
Whether moving or still
You shit from down low, you shit from up high
In spite of it all, we still love you, sigh

I guess my only criticism is it loses the rhythm with "what the heck," and the last line.
Personally, I'm glad the birds are shitting in a DUmmie's eye and on his coat and car. :yahoo:

I'm not completely sure that I agree GOBUCKS.
I think this DUmmie has done a much better job than CalPeg as this DUmmie's writing does have some semblance of flow and rhythm.
Also, I like how it worked in references to the arrogance of Dummies in general and nadin in specific with the "why so aloof" line.
He also worked in references to the buddies of the Dummies, the car-dumping OWS group, with the "covered my car" line.
In addition, he alluded to the Dummies and their complete contrast with normal and decent people with the "You shit where you will" line.
Finally, he refers to the Dummies delusions of acceptance with the "we still love you, sigh" line.
And to top it off he captured the irony of creating a work about excrement, with the same general scent as excrement, that can be printed out on paper and used to line a bird cage to capture excrement.

Yeah, it should be "what in the heck." Now I am truly bothered by it.

A pretty shitty hat trick, if you ask me . . .

I'm going to need DAT's opinion on this question . . .
Does it dive to Vogon levels? :whistling:

No, I believe "what the heck" was inspired by another poet of the Calpig school, Eddie Murphy.
Its origin can be seen here:
slip in his window, break his neck,
then his house I start to wreck,
got no reason, what the heck!
kill my landlord, kill my landlord,
C-I-L-L my landlord.
It's amazing how DUmmy Uncle Joe was able to weave this tribute seamlessly into his work.

It's good that we have someone that can read between the lines for us.....because I sure as heck can't. :-)
